Technology is so advance now, why can't the NBA put sensor technology in the jersey and shorts, and have 6 Referees and 1 on the broadcast table to review plays, fouls, last second shots.

This why I if we lose this series Dan Toney needs to be canned. Seeing the Havoc Harrell did and we basically have his big brother and he can't see the floor? Dan Toney honestly doesnt deserve to be coach of a championship team

Smart and efficient is "ugly basketball" for 80% of the viewers and media.

We want tight and gripping game six or seven basketball.

Silver wants an Oscar for Best Screenplay, not some dumb moral victory on letting the better team win through executing on the other teams inefficiencies.

Rox will be "favorites" for game 2. Rigged refs? What unfairness? Rockets wouldn't win if they were victims, right?

    Stop complaining:rolleyes:

Yeah, let them take out our knees and ankles first and then you will have an awesome smart and efficient series....That's like bringing a bat to a gun fight.

Yeah. The officiating problem goes all the way back to its core: three old men trying to run the floor with ten young peak athletes and trying to pay attention to every single thing those ten guys are doing at once. It's impossible even if all the refs are as pure as the wind-driven snow.

I'd say at least 5 refs, so there's two per player and an odd number for voting purposes, plus an outside officiating presence like the other sports have.

    ---

Now one thing that would drastically change things is a challenge system like the other sports have. AND it must include fouls. And there is zero argument against including fouls, because the NBA has already thrown that door wide open by allowing review to see if a foul was flagrant. Assessing the intent of a foul from video is much harder than simple determining whether there was or was not one committed.

Now, of course, sadly, this will never happen.

But they don't even get that correct by calling a Royce O'Neal tackle of Harden a common foul.

Don't play dirty: play extremely physical. Like Kerr said, GSW have volleyball players, we have linebackers. We need some Bad Boy Pistons action.

Oh, they get those flagrant calls wrong all the time. Actually, that's my point. Trying to discern intent is a nearly a pointless exercise, because it's such a grey area. It also allows officials plausible deniability to basically decide whatever the hell the want even after having taken "a closer look at it."

However, simply allowing reviews of any fouls for any reason opens a door that I think ought to now be wrenched off its hinges. The other leagues are very clamped down on this sort of thing; you can't review penalties in the NFL or NHL for example. In fact, the Vegas Golden Knights are pushing for it now that they just got knocked out of the playoffs in one of the craziest comebacks ever that was all precipitated by what I've heard was a very-questionable penalty call against them. I'd say balls and strikes are the relevant untouchable aspect of baseball...so far.

But, say you just give each coach 2 or 3 challenges, and they CAN be used on foul calls. And, again, the league is ALREADY reviewing foul calls; they're just doing it for something as nebulous as intent. Whether a foul simply happened or not is much clearer. Suddenly, refs either need to be more on their toes or they have to step on a team's neck even harder, and that's going to be so obvious, it's going to finally cause an attention-getting scandal. At the same time, you're not going to burn all your challenges on inconsequential fouls or nonobvious fouls, either.

(And don't talk to me about pace of game. The NBA will take a timeout's worth of time to determine who tipped a ball out of bounds.)

Something's got to be done, and the NBA has already unwittingly opened their own doors to a means to a potential solution.

Because the Warriors would have got those calls. Did you not see how many soft calls Durant got after posting up?

Play physical and live with the fact the refs are going to call a certain number regardless. That’s what Sloan used to do

I think that's why Harden starting attacking the rim more in the final quarter. He was pissed off and tried to get points that way. That's why I think Harden should attack the rim a lot more.... he's strong, fast and can get those shooting fouls in the paint.

I would not call it playing dirty and do not want to deliberately hurt folks, , but since the NBA will not police Warrior-Rockets games, the Rockets need to police the game by jumping into the landing space of Thompson who allegedly has an ankle sprain and Curry also. They should be made consider if they really want to play the game that way.

Not a fan of getting opposing players injured using goons, but let's be very very physical with them and see how the refs handle it.

actually according the refs... landing in the shooters space isn't dirty. So time to use that strategy for the next game.

I'm down for playing Dirty, but the Rockets just don't have the lunatics on the team to do so. Rockets have players that play hard not crazies. CP3 was dirty once before maybe he channel that.. Rivers wasn't really a dirty player, he was just so annoying people felt dirty playing against him. PJ and Faried just play hard.

too bad we didnt sign zaza when we had the chance. Imagine zaza switching to curry instead of NeNe.

Get ready. If they don't call undercutting, I hope the coaches tell the players to undercut them as well. The first all stars to go down, the team wins!!!
