Crying and tears seem to mentioned more than a few times in the reviews. I couldn’t get a decent pair of tickets until the 29th and I’m just so worried I won’t be able to avoid spoilers. Worst review I’ve seen said the first two hours were mediocre but the last hour was absolutely epic and the biggest series of nerdgasms in the history of all movies or something like that.
The “Avengers: Endgame” Reviews Are In http://www.darkhorizons.com/the-avengers-endgame-reviews-are-in No plot spoilers in the review snippets below but spoilered anyway...... Spoiler Marvel Studios” “Avengers: Endgame” has begun screening for the press and the first round of reviews are in, most importantly most are glowing – especially from those who weren’t hugely enamoured with “Avengers: Infinity War”. The reviews come as it has been revealed that the film contains no post-credits sequences – no setup for any of the other Marvel films coming down the pipeline including “Spider-Man: Far from Home”. Marvel has reportedly already sold-out more than 4,000 screenings in North America. The film opens in China Wednesday and already has $90 million in early ticket sales and could take in $270 million during its five-days in that market alone. The worldwide opening weekend haul is expected to be in the $850-900 million range. Here’s a sampling of reviews: “Endgame offers a rich assemblage of movement and detail, full of winning digressions and loyalty-rewarding callbacks. There’s a host of great performances too… Watching Endgame, with its ribbons of poignancy and genuine artfulness, one gets the feeling that any series can get good when it’s had 22 chances to practice. That long runway doesn’t make you appreciate the finery any less, though; in a maybe perverse way, the Avengers, their allies, and their enemies have earned our respect.” – Vanity Fair “The Russos have delivered a stranger, scrappier beast. This deals with the messy business of emotional fallout and character development. The trick is that it does so in a way that’s equally satisfying – and that the action, when it comes, is less precise but far more impactful” – Empire “Avengers: Endgame is a marvel, both in terms of narrative scale and sheer logistical ambition. The film walks a tightrope between high drama and cathartic comedy, offering some of the darkest and most emotionally honest scenes in the history of the MCU, alongside some of the most ridiculous and sublime. Endgame is a film that feels like it was made by fans, for fans – to the point where some scenes will undoubtedly be labeled as outright fanservice. But it’s hard to view those moments as cynical pandering so much as earned and effective homages to the moments, characters, and relationships we’ve grown so invested in over the past 11 years” – IGN “Avengers: Endgame is of course entirely preposterous and, yes, the central plot device here does not, in itself, deliver the shock of the new. But the sheer enjoyment and fun that it delivers, the pure exotic spectacle, are irresistible, as is its insouciant way of combining the serious and the comic. Without the comedy, the drama would not be palatable. Yet without the earnest, almost childlike belief in the seriousness of what is at stake, the funny stuff would not work either.” – The Guardian “A a monument to adequacy, a fitting capstone to an enterprise that figured out how to be good enough for enough people enough of the time. Not that it’s really over, of course: Disney and Marvel are still working out new wrinkles in the time-money continuum. But the Russos do provide the sense of an ending, a chance to appreciate what has been done before the timelines reset and we all get back to work.” – The New York Times “Avengers: Endgame works in all the ways Infinity War did not. While a handful of story ideas are left unresolved, the core story does finish, at very long last. Endgame reaches a conclusion that is not only spectacularly satisfying, but thematically powerful. Endgame is sprawling, but as the filmmakers maintain that focus, this movie plays faster and more effective than Infinity War.” – Birth Movies Death “Endgame is a love letter to the entire MCU–the whole thing. It’s messy and confusing, and there’s going to be a lot of discussion about whether the ending even makes sense–it basically breaks the rules set up throughout the entire movie leading up to it. But holy hell is it an emotional, fulfilling ride.. ” – GameSpot “The most shocking thing about Avengers: Endgame is that there are several moments within this colossal movie that feel like a Marvel miracle. These are the pockets of time when what you watch on screen sends a shock of joy jumping through your skin, making your eyes go wide and watery at the spectacle. Endgame is a celebration of, and goodbye to, the superheroes that many of us have grown a decade older with. It’s an earnest reminder of these heroes’ ability to reflect our own feelings about what they stand for and the emotions we share with them.” – Vox “‘Endgame’ shifts the focus from extravagant, effects-driven displays of universe-saving — manifold though they remain — to the more human cost of heroism, which comes at great personal sacrifice. That said… it hinges on the most frustrating of narrative tricks, and that no meaningful analysis of the film can take place without delving into some of the choices made by the Russo brothers and screenwriters.” – Variety “While constantly eventful and a feast for the eyes, it’s also notably more somber than its predecessors. But just when it might seem about to become too grim, Robert Downey Jr. rides to the rescue with an inspired serio-comic performance that reminds you how good he can be. The feeling of finality and potential farewell is sometimes suggested quietly just in the way certain moments are lingered over, conveying the fatalistic sense that this might well be the last time around the block for some of these characters” – THR “Avengers: Endgame” opens in cinemas on April 26th.
There's some YT video that gives away the entire plot, let's see if I can find it....... I listened to this spoiler video but can't remember any of it, except the part where Tony Stark [[redacted]].
for those who have seen, how much screen time do we get of lieutenant marvel? she was so wooden in her movie, i can't see her leading the crew for movies to come.
Spoiler She's in it at the start, and then again towards the end. I'd say all up about 15 minutes of actual useful screen time maybe.
