What a joke. At least when Dr. Buss ran the Lakers he knew what he was doing.

Doesn’t really matter that they landed an aging LeBron. I’ll be surprised if they land any big free agents. You he only thing they have going for them is it’s LA.

If Magic was LA's second favorite son, does that make Luke LA's favorite play cousin?

I strongly agree that he probably does, but the Lakers haven't had consistency in the coach's seat for quite a while.

Parting ways sounds so much kinder than getting canned.

just another perspective, 2 days after Magic's resignation.

Magic wanted to fire Luke and Pelinka, Kobe's close friend and former BB agent
Jeanie Buzz consulted Kobe on the matters, he convinced her not to let Magic do it.

    Magic quit in protest.

Kobe is pushing for Pelinka to run BB Op; to make sure that his close friend succeeds, Kobe is willing to make compromises, as warranted, as well as turning on the charm offensive to get Kawhi, who grew up in SoCalif idolizing the Black Mamba

letting Luke go was a compromise to appease LBJ, so too will the hiring of D Griffith as GM, and Ty Lue as coach

effectively, LAL will be Cavaliers West, w Kawhi replacing Kyrie
