I am not really concerned with what or who is being replaced. that book was closed a long time ago. teams are different and everything is adjusted accordingly to now

All that matters is at this point in time is the rockets are both elite defensively and offensively since the break. And most importantly fully healthy. Some of yall can nitpick all these things every other team has to deal with but I'll definitely be enjoying the ride

 

I cant wait for these games to start, these last two days have been the worst for the Rockets. Hopefully we make this a quick series and be ready for the Warriors. DONT LET KORVER GO OFF PLEASE

 

Not nitpicking, whatever. I’ll be enjoying the ride with fellow CF members and seeing how we adjust to certain situations both offensively and defensively. It’ll be fun but stressful playoffs like every god damn year.

 

I am with you there! I have never taken our opponents lightly. Yes, how sweet it would be to get a sweep in 4 and rest.

 

Wow, I don't remember that. I had to look it up. I probably didn't see that game. I was in Puerto Rico in the Navy then.

 

We also have House this season. I know he struggled in the OKC game too, but given how Luc was a shell of himself in the Utah series last year, he's a massive upgrade.

 

It was Dream's rookie season in the playoffs. Billy "The Whopper" Paultz was getting under Olajuwon's skin and the Dream was still a young buck and had not mellowed out yet.

i don't get why he's mad. He's the one who requested a trade? what is he mad about? he gets more freedom in LA to do stuff with the ball, rather than giving the ball to harden every time and wait at the 3 point line. He should be happy!

Not a knock against Bev, either. The point guard is a dying position, at least terms of being able to define what a point guard actually does for a team. It's that way with all positions.

I'm sad that Bev is gone. His defense and energy were huge. I had hoped somebody would teach him some basics and also finer points about being a facilitator on offense and how that could fit in with Harden. I think he would have been hungry to learn.

But it seems that teams just don't do that. You are who you are: a fixed tradable entity that either does or does not fit into an established system the way you are. Any sort of growth within a player seems to be their own doing. You damn well know that Harden's taught himself everything he keeps adding to his repertoire. It's sad that there's no concept of player development. In fact, it's more about taking players and shoving them into a fixed system regardless of their strengths, a la forcing P.J. Tucker to shoot three after three even though he's average at best and inconsistent at it.

I see the same thing with Faried. Is Faried's defense lacking? Then, FFS, Jeff Bzdelik, defensive specialist coach, go work with him personally to get it better. The guy is eager to play and tends to ignite the team with his energy. A lot like Bev. Even small incremental improvements in their games from proper mentoring would reap big results.
