lol, I appreciate the seeding scenario updates. You probably should have made a thread. Now that the standings are all screwed up with all this shameless tanking by Denver and Clippers, Rockets should probably just go for the 2nd seed and call it a day.
They would have gone for the 2nd seed regardless, even for the 1st if Worriers were free falling which they stopped doing.
So Denver cowardly tanking cost Utah's hope for 4 seed. I hope Utah go angry mofo next Tuesday and release all their anger on Denver.
We can. We just tend to struggle in OKC and they are not a good matchup for us. It’s not a game I’d like to have as a must-win like it is.
Utah still has a chance, but they need Portland to lose against either the Lakers or the Kings or both. Tonight was definitely their best shot at catching Portland.
Of course, Utah isn't winning against the Lakers right now, so they seem to be taking themselves out of the 4th seed race.
Now that this is a such a mess I don't care who the Rockets face in the 1st round. I just want to be away from the Warriors side of the bracket if the Rockets happen to make it to the second round. Whichever scenario puts the Rockets in the 2nd or 3rd seed I'm fine with that. I know Rockets need to win out to secure their spot, but what if they lose to OKC? What are the scenarios to keep them in that 2-3 seed, @RayRay10?
If the Rockets lose Tuesday, they could still clinch the 2 seed by Denver going 0-2 in their last two games (@UTA, MIN). Does not matter what Portland does if this happens. They clinch the 3 seed with a loss to OKC and one Portland loss (@LAL, SAC) while Denver wins 1 of their last 2. They move to 4 with a loss to OKC, 1 win by Denver and 2 wins by Portland.
We whupped their asses the last two times we played, the second time we were just in our "job a huge lead and lose" phase so we lost, and even then it was still close. Those days are done and so are the Thunder's chances of beating us.
Thunder own the tiebreaker over the Jazz and would be 2 games back with 2 to go if Utah doesn't pull this one out. Still a chance that OKC could end up as the 5th seed.
I thought Utah was locked into 5th. If they can still fall behind OKC, then they'll have something to play for vs Denver on Tuesday.
