"I can do whatever I want." -- Ron b****stain c*m**** Asscunt Kulpa **** ****ing Umpires. Robots and lasers, yesterday.
How many guys we got that throw 95+? It's very simple you tell the catcher not to catch 2 of them in a row.
Our first 'The wheels have fallen off' pic of the season. ... "I can do whatever I want." Signed, Ron Kulpa Scott Foster Ken Mauer Tony Brothers
I typically don't say much about the umps, they have a tough job. The blown calls on balls and strikes I can usually deal with as just part of the game, sometimes they go our way, sometimes not. But Kulpa's attitude last night was utter horses**t, that's the type of crap umpires should get fired for. Suspended at the least.
Hopefully, no more wheels pics will be necessary As far as the umps go, no one should be held unaccountable.
That's me. Even in the best seasons, there will be stretches like this. It's annoying because they're WAY too good to be playing like this. It'll come around...hopefully this weekend finally being home.
I missed the game, but whoa....he just shoved Stassi. No way the league can ignore that move right there. That was TOTALLY out of line.
I guarantee you that a good number of these older umps are on testosterone replacement... that sequence screamed of hormone induced rage. Start testing umps! There really isn’t an excuse to at least incorporate some technology at first. Challenge system, whatever. Then, when it proves successful, and the real time sensors are flawless, make it the sole option. The umps are about as good at calling balls/strikes as any human can be. It’s very hard. If there’s an option that’s even more successful/accurate, they need to incorporate it.
I know travel is part of it, but went from from ST to Texas, only to turn around and go back to FL, just to turn around and come back to Texas. Hopefully the off day today will help turn things around.
I think the Stros were so embarrassed by their offensive struggles at MMP last year that they decided to save all their early season runs for the 1st homestand.
Cyclical is cyclical. There have been years (even recent ones) where this team hit better at home than on the road. Last year wasn't that bad at home... but was tremendous stuff on the road, thus was bad in comparison.
Just to keep you all up to speed, a couple innings later Cole wanted to say something to Kulpa as he walked off the field, he began to make a frustrating gesture with his hand(not that one) and barely turned before composing and continuing to leave the field. Then Kulpa said something. Cole turned back but Stassi got in the way, sending Cole to the dugout while Stassi got in Kuplas space(not like that). Eventually Kulpa is looking into the Astros dugout while Stassi is talking to him. Kulpa then nudges Stassi away with his mask. Vid: Next time Cole is out on the mound taking his warm up pitches, Kulpa walks in front of the plate as Stassi is returning a warm up toss. Cole must've said something because Kulpa snapped back something about a pitch clock?
