well I can name one demographic he has already lost https://www.yahoo.com/news/2020-democratic-presidential-hopeful-beto-045551440.html
Yeah, despite the haters (read: opposition from dems and the gop trying to take him down a notch or two), Beto will be there at the end. Not sure who will be the nominee as we haven't even seen a 1st debate yet. Lol. Very few people have led perfect lives. Personally, I would like to erase two dark years in my own life. Ultimately, it's how you come out of it that's important. Beto is no different. We all have skeletons in the closet.
Because it's generally true, and it's what we see when we examine lower-income people's lives in-depth...
Not sure what you are saying here, I think you may have left some words out of your sentence. Anyway, taxes were very much raised on upper income brackets to pay for Obamacare. That was part of the problem with Trump's attempt to cut taxes --his failure to undo Obamacare (through Congress) meant that he was unable to lower these taxes. It didn't affect me personally, but I know upper income people whom this did effect. Ah the redistributionist/socialist spirit shows itself ...
I would argue that what you are talking about is not related to the idea of meritocracy. Meritocracy means that jobs/titles/positions are not closed off due to race/class/gender etc. What you are "complaining" about (for lack of a better term), is the basic unfairness of life. You/we will never solve that problem. Any attempt to make life "fair" inevitably entails restricting the freedom of some parts of the population, and won't work anyway. Basically, our culture needs to realize what "better parenting" involves. Let's go back to your impoverished 5-year old. If someone can't afford to raise a kid, they shouldn't have one. We need to stop acting like having kids is like a hurricane that hits you, and you have no power over it.
Reuters reporter takes heat for sitting on Beto O’Rourke hacker story until after Senate race against Cruz https://www.foxnews.com/politics/re...-until-after-key-senate-race-against-ted-cruz
Honestly I just think it is funny and shows what kind of slacker idiot this cat really is. The dude is likely deep down an anti-establishment psycho who is definitely not stable. Trusting the power of the federal govt to him would be a huge mistake. I would elect Clinton before I elect this weirdo.
Yet the left wants to pretend it doesn't get massive help from activist news reporters and Hollyweird.
It’s sad when Shillary seems like the best choice out of any of the 100 candidates, it’s like they are trying to out crazy each other.
I gave the article a decent read (if not stem to stern), and it seems to me that it is not really making an argument against meritocracy. It mentions how someone used a meritocratic system to move up in economic bracket, then "pulls the ladder up" after they got there. Well, the moment they "pull the ladder up," that system ceases to be meritocratic. It also mentions how someone in a college prep school had an adviser that said "Hey, I can get you into Yale." That's the good ole buddy/connection system. That's also not meritocracy. So, it seems to me that the article is decrying "inside connections" -- not meritocracy. That's the opposite of meritocracy.
She is more center than any of them... except creepy Joe but all those kids and women he touches... just... no... I would still pick Shillary over that weirdo pervert. https://joebiden.info/
