This is perhaps the most maddening thing about the way the Texans are approaching o-line. There is no depth and no competition. Henderson is supposedly our startingvrught tackle even though he hadn’t played in the nfl for several years and is coming off injury. Fulton is starting at right guard even though he had a poor season last year. We don’t have a single player who can start at left tackle but we’ll probably draft a guy and start him there as a rookie. No competition, no real depth. I’m really upset that the Texans haven’t at least signed a starting caliber interior lineman, or at least some o-line depth.

The Bengals are worst right now that the Texans, Miami, hasnt done much, and a lot of teams are in worst position than the texans, with clueless GMs and coaches.

I feel they must have plenty of UDFA targets at o-line.

We’ll likely go into the season with 9 olineman on the roster. The Texans have picks and money invested in these guys. They arent ready to give up on any of them. That leaves only 2 spots:

    Davenport
    Rookie
    Kelemete
    Rankin
    Martin
    Fulton
    Mancz
    Henderson
    Rookie / Penn / Schraeder

Texans need to sign TJ Yeldon or Jay Ajayi right now to succeed Miller after next season. It’s pretty clear now that we won’t have the luxury in the draft of taking a RB early so go ahead and get your pick of the litter rn. With how FA is looking I’m starting to think we draft linemen with our first 3 picks. Therefore we probably wouldn’t get a rb till the 5th or 6th round which pretty much defeats the purpose. So skip drafting a rb. Go into the year with Miller, Foreman, and Yeldon/Ajayi; cut Miller next year and draft a impact rookie high next year. So next year you’re looking at D’Andre Swift/Jonathan Taylor, Yeldon/Ajayi, Foremen/FA.

Last chance Texans. Penn and Schraeder could definitely turn this FA grade from a D- to a B. At least people will stop laughing at us.

Colts used draft picks to create competition. High draft picks. Bringing in a bunch of average to mediocre linemen will not produce the same results.

There were some starting caliber interior linemen on the market this free agency. We just chose not to spend.

Schrader seems like a bum based on what I've read on him. Don't really want to spend anything significant on him. Penn may be old, but he could be a big lynchpin for this OL group. Give him a 1 or 2 year deal. We're going to have a lot of young, inexperienced guys for the next few years.. Having a vet like Penn in the mix will foster a lot of benefits, even if his on-field performance is a bit declined (and let's be real, a declined Donald Penn is still a welcome addition to our OL). I think Penn may actually be a bit rejuvenated in protecting DW4. It'll give him a sense of purpose as his career dwindles to a halt. I think Penn is a must add at this point. We still need a beast OL, but adding Penn should slightly open up the draft board too.

Texans don't care what other people think. They have their plan. Dumbass fans are so ****ing reactionary. See Darryl Morey...Rockets.

Texans' problems were at the Tackles, not the interior.

    Not true
Colts also brought in free agents (Slausen) to compete. Plus Colts had a high pick and then traded a couple picks down to get another 2nd. Texans dont have a pick to get the best lineman in the draft and they have multiple needs to fill. They have to bring a free agent or two in if they want quality competition or depth.

Colts have DRAFTED rookies in the interior. High draft picks= 1st and 2nd round picks.
