It seems the smart teams with a top tier rookie quarterback are making the most out of that cheap rookie contract.
I wonder if they're going to roll some of that cap into next year to absorb a big extension for Watson? Something that smoothes out his bump after year 2 with large upfront guarantees and lower signing bonus.
What do you guys think about Trae Waynes? I liked him coming into the draft and i don't think he has reached his max potential yet. He's only 26 and would be on his 5th year option kind of like a "1 year prove it deal" like Brian Gaine seems to like giving out. He seems to play better in Man coverage than zone, and here with Romeo he would see alot of man coverage. They reportedly are looking to get a mid round pick for him. https://www.profootballfocus.com/ne...ikings-are-reportedly-shopping-cb-trae-waynes
I really thought they'd be way more active to address what are glaring holes on this team. Shame on me for thinking that.
I don’t get some mentalities, spending money just to spend money is not smart. There wasn’t one tier 1 player in free agency to break the bank for. Over spending a bit is fine, out bidding on Daryl Williams should’ve happened. But the rest in this market isn’t good. Would I like to see a little more action, yes, but Roby, Gipson and Calhoun are good value signings. Now if they pull HB moves and jet next offseason for undeserved money then that’s on Texans all the way
