Really like second year in a row of Gaines doing these prove it deals. If guy proves it and goes back on the market, can decide then whether to pay up or not. If guy sucks... well, that's not great, you don't want guys that suck... but at least you haven't overpaid
I wouldn't mind hanging on to Kayvon Webster either. If he can make it past two snaps he's a plus player
Kareem & Bradley can exchange stories about how their former teams didn't want them & didn't make them an offer.
you couldn't get Kareem for 1 year. This looks like an insurance plan for whoever they're targeting in the draft. Would love to see them sign Darby and/or trade for Pat Peterson. Then Roby or Joseph could be depth, but, being captain obvious, I think they are trying to maximize draft assets and think they're pretty close to done on cornerbacks for now.
If you're counting on a 35 year old CB to heavily contribute to your defense, you're gonna have a bad time.
haha... well just know the same issues next year during free agency will be......... We need another CB / Safety.
Did you see my post last night........ the Texans would spend almost the same amount of money to replace Kareem and get an inferior player? Yeah that happened. I hope there is at least a team option, otherwise the Texans really just punted.
No what they did was: "Oh ****! We lost Ty and Kareem, we need someone right? Who is out there, ummmm Roby, he is willing to be a stop gap," So the Texans just put: On an underlying problem and will move on......because that is what the McNair's do. Expect some nice fluff pieces on him as we get close to camp, about how good he can be.
HAHA. Could be right. Jury still out on Texans FA but if this is it they should be crucified by the media and fan outrage. No way should this be a starting secondary next year. Also, mid-first rookie OTs or CBs are unlikely to provide the type of upgrades we need in year one. Unlikely to hit on another rookie like Reed two years in a row.
