Depending on location, I've had decent results with junk car services, normally get a couple hundred or more depending on the condition yr/model. If you're looking to make a lot more .... And you have the means and time... Parting it out on ebay/cl/local works well, but it can be a PITA. But that's where you'll get the most value.

On a side note, how bad is the transmission? sometimes it's like a $40 part (like a solenoid etc) .. .of course you have to take it apart unfortunately.

 

Just put it on Craigslist and say mint condition just needs a tune up.

 

Selling to an individual is okay as long as you're honest. They might want a fixer-upper.
