That it just let him play when his boy wade is out there. I haven’t looked at the nunbers but I don’t think wade is playing more than 20 min a night this season. Could be wrong but u know he’s a bench guy now so I doubt he’s getting that much burn.
aint gonna dive into it all at the moment... but i may be re-visiting this thread after a few cocktails tonight... lol
I think Fertitta is a bit paranoid in trying to avoid the $100,000 rest fine... Are fines added onto the salary cap for the luxury tax? the repeater tax?
It’s his boy D Wade. It’s his last time being able to compete against him. I don’t like it, but this could be part of the reason. Now I’m worried.
The fact that people want to sit a 32 year old on the 2nd night of a back to back is just straight up pathetic. He's been off the injury list for awhile now. The dude better suit up if u ask me.
No what is pathetic is to care about a RS game against a team that can't even make the playoffs in the East and has been in a free fall for quite a while now, instead of keeping the old players fresh and healthy for the playoffs.
No it doesn’t count towards the salary cap and no it doesn’t count towards the repeater tax. Also you can do a home rest. The fine is for 1) national TV games 2) multiple players (stars) rest 3) resting players on a road game w/ no injury. This wouldn’t fall into any of those 3 categories (which makes not sitting him extra frustrating). However I’m not a fan of CP3 playing a B2B even if it’s at home. This is one of the last B2Bs in the season, why risk it? If he only plays 10-15 minutes that’ll be great. More realistically he’ll play 20-25 minutes. I really hope the Rockets can get a huge lead and let both Harden and Paul rest in the 4th.
Realistically is that the Rockets can't keep a damn lead, therefore CP3 will be played 30+ minutes because he is available. I'm not a fan, but Mike never puts his foot down on resting players. His philosophy is if they are available then they are playing the minutes he normally gives them. I wish Rockets would protect their assets. I get that CP3 can get injured at any moment, but we should at least try to be cautious with him.
is it even scientifically proven the rest wont affect his hammies in a negative way? no? yeah , i thought it wasn't, and this is why you play him
We all know it's not going to happen. At this point, this is a dumb decision. Still 4 b2bs remaining, you're playing with fire while having 18 other guards on the roster. D'Antoni with a smile saying "he wants to play, we need to win, and it is not scientifically proven that injuries happen for that reason". Just freaking dumb. Doctors, front office, should press on it.
I'm getting a feeling this is the situation with a lot of posters here: Scenario 1: MDA plays player X-->win. "MDA is still dumb." Scenario 2: MDA plays player X-->loss. "MDA is dumb, see?" Scenario 3: MDA sits player X-->win. "MDA is still dumb, but see how smart I am?" Scenario 4: MDA sits player X-->loss. "I am not dumb, but MDA still is." Are we entering the "McFail" stage of the relationship? Are posters soon gonna start stomping and pouting? "I only got Harden and Paul on my team! Life sucks."
