Also, despite my complaining about how the score shouldn’t have been this close, I think it’s important to remember that it took an injured Harden’s worst game of the year and Trae Young’s best for the score to be what it was. And honestly, I don’t think the Rockets were really in danger of losing anyway.
Right?? Even if Harden didn't play well, he drew double teams all night. The whole league knows and respects how good he is. He's not perfect all the time but it's kind of sad how some Rockets fans can't see past a few bad performances.
If he was injured he obviously shouldn't have gone for that many heaves eh? the game was on the line . he was not in rhythm at all for those 3's. i'm going to celebrate the streak ending and look forward to more team orientated wins.
Then they should have defended him 5 feet beyond the arc if Young is that good how come his 3 pt percentage before this game is so low?
Has a bad night and still gets twenty eight He needs to play to get his 3 point swag back. Rest will NOT do that. Reduce his minutes and maybe no b2b games
I don't think it is lazy, he is just not all the way back yet, and now he has to learn to play with Faried, think of it this way, tonight they combined for 25 points and 18 rebounds, that is not too shabby. DD
Yeah, you know like the streak is the sole reason for a bad night. I love CP3, Manimal,EGO and others but Jimmy plays high minutes and it will wear and tear on a body. Jimmy will still be playing when most of these other guys are watching on tv.
Everyone loves saying this but fail to realize when harden goes out so does the opposing teams starters. It's easy work for cp3 against backups
Yeah he got going in the fourth but needs to take out the three ball a bit. But his floater got going in the fourth and looked more energetic
This never felt in danger to me. Maybe because I’ve seen Atlanta play quite a bit. I just knew they’d fall apart late.
With the game tonight he's now shooting over 40% since Christmas. He's only 20 and people were putting far too much stock into a slow start.
By 40% you mean his FG right? Surely you don't mean his 3 pt shooting, dude's bricking shots at 31% clip c'mon.
I love harden but i'm a rocket fan at heart. those that can't see the 30 point streak affecting overall team play are just blind. yes, Harden has been amazing for the past 32 games for sure, but as the streak has extended near the tail end it has affected our team play for sure.
No, he's been hitting over 40% since Christmas. His first 32 games he was shooting 38% and 25% from 3. Over his last 29 he's shooting about 44% and 41% from 3. (39% prior to tonight)
I think the streak was becoming a distraction for Harden as well as the team. Now the Rockets can eliminate the stress of continuing the streak and just play team ball for wins. Go Rockets...climb the standings with wins for the playoffs.
