They already had one a decade ago. They'd have fired him, but then it would look like multiple refs were crooked. By just firing Donaghy, they were able to say it was just one rogue guy.
its time for Daryl Morey to turn into Mark Cuban. All this negative media coverage all this has demonized the Rox. All these guys are doing is trying to gang up on James like they are trying to slay the dragon.. They had 4 fouls to change the game on James Harden. Scott Foster was on display that when Lebron needs help the NBA will help him. That's why you got to crush these guys when you have them down
Could easily argue that the refs calling 3 early fouls on Harden, took him out of his rhythm for the half and set the (depressing) tone for the rest of the game. Affected Harden, affected the team, affected LA's home crowd, etc. Could also argue 17 FTs from LA to Houston's 0. That's a +17 in "free points."
Tilman wanted to request an investigation, but once they told him there's an admin fee involved he realized he forgot his wallet in his limo. He wasn't trying to duck it, he had an epiphany that this would bring us closer to the championship.
I’ve heard this narrative several times, as well as last post season. Here is my response... The Rockets were up 19. When you all the sudden have no calls going your way and all they calls start going for the other team that messes with your psyche. We know the Rockets already have a hard time keeping their mind right. But when things just don’t go your way, it can mess with your head. When your head isn’t right you can’t perform (make shots) like normal. Refs have a bigger impact on the game than most people want to give them credit for. Take someone out of their game and they start playing horrible. It’s essentially like another player talking enough smack to get in the other player’s head. Happened in the Lakers game, also happened in Game 7 of the WCF.
Speaking for some of us old-timers, here's a rule of thumb: When you start seeing a lot of threads about referee or league conspiracies against the Rockets, it means we're having a bad season. On extremely rare occasions, there's an egregious, decisive (or nearly decisive) bad call against us. The no-call on Kevin Durant standing 2 feet out of bounds is an example. These injustices happen to just about every team.
My opinion is that the league has couple of their fave teams like GSW who have a vast TV audience and traditional strong teams like the Lake Show. I dun think they hate the Rockets, it's just that they luv those teams much more. It coincides with the circumstance that we are a fierce rival of them both.
