They are just too cheap to take a chance on House. I'll take a big proven star sure, but they can't get one.
Wrong wrong wrong. NO ONE thinks he's a future all-star. And, it has nothing to do with him playing for the Aggies. That's ridiculous. Pretty much everyone agrees that he doesn't deserve a contract of much more than a minimum contract. He gets attention because he performed well for a few weeks earlier this season, and he's one of the few players the Rockets can actually add to the roster at this point. Clutchfans get infatuated about ANY player that could possibly get added to the roster.
Agree . But we probably should have never been below the luxury tax this season . Ennis and house are guys who could have / did help . On the margin the "future flexibility" might be better than paying the LT this year . But I would argue any help you can give harden this year is worth it . The fact is , if we had House this whole time , our season could have played out differently. House was an effective, if unproven, player for us at a position of need. Waiting until 2/3 of the season is over to try and make the team "whole" is asinine and spits on the idea of chemistry.
So FO's can never be questioned ? After all , what you said is true . It applies to coaches too . Coaches have been around the game for way longer and have way more information . So can fans never question a coach ? What you are saying is 100 percent right . But what the **** are we even doing here anyways if this is the line you are gonna use? Because you could say it literally anytime and you would be right about the overall state of information and how that should make the organizations decision process better than any fan .
Danuel House the player in a vacuum is probably overrated. Danuel House the role player that fits into the puzzle is not. It is the "sum of the parts" type of thing. He fills a key role in our 5 man units. Just a splash of energy, athleticism, youth and decent intelligence into the lineup.
Fans can question ****, sure. I have no problems with us fans expressing our opinions. When fans believe they know better than actual professionals and post it ad nauseam on the other hand? That **** gets annoying fast. We can all discuss plenty of much more productive stuff. Player development that we notice, activities by players, new plays by coaching, stats and their meaning/purposes. CF in the last few years seem to have been taken over little whining b****es and it is starting to effect even the posting of mods and posters who have typically been much more positive.
Some posters here believe that we should never question the pros because we can't do better in their jobs. That is a very strange logic. Plenty of them question the president of the United States. Do they think they could have done a better job if they were put in the White House? Lot of people want a refund after seeing a bad movie. Do they think they could make a better movie? Many people criticize Jeremy Lin for screwing up the Portland series. Do they believe that they could have played better than Lin in that situation? If you hired a plumber and he did a leaky job, you couldn't criticize him because you wouldn't be able to do a better job? The pros can be held accountable by the public by the professional standards.
Hey , Some of us are glass half empty type of people and others manage to always look on the bright side . Sometimes it seems like the mistakes the FO/ coach makes are so obvious that it's hard not to think your own interpretation is right . I would argue that fans can be and have been right before , even the professionals **** up . For example , MDA playing 6 ( or was it 7 ) guys vs SA in 16-17 . Most people here rioted .... and MDA "admitted" afterwards that he maybe should have played more people . although no one here has access to perfect information , most of us have been watching basketball for over a decade . Observing the game from the outside as a fan , sometimes you can pick up on things that people right in the thick of it may not notice . Most of us here laugh at unreasonable trade proposals, the "dooo something moooray crowd" , the "fire MDA he no rest harden posters." .... but there are legitimate gripes . You can't chalk it up to , "the organization has more information, they are way more likely to make the right decision so don't pretend to know better."
He was offered a golden chance to secure a stable professional career. He threw it away like an idiot because he's a star in his own head. He can go gig himself. Always take the money.
From an article ranking SF’s dated in November: (not in order by article) Starting Small Forwards: Paul George LeBron James Durant Kawhi Leonard Jimmy Butler Bojan Bogdanovic Middleton Andrew Wiggins TJ Warren DeMarre Carroll Otto Porter Will Barton Joe Ingles Josh Richardson House: 25 mins/ 46%(FG%)/ 39%(3P%)/ 58%(eFG%)/ 82%(FT%)/ 3.5 (TRB)/ 9.0 pts.......season avg. ............ 29 mins/ 49%(FG%)/ 48%(3P%)/ ..................../ 91%(FT%)/ 3.4 (TRB)/ 11 pts........as starter avg Harkless Rudy Gay Gordon Hayward Taurean Prince Kyle Anderson Stanley Johnson Justin Jackson M K-Gil Solomon Hill Jonathan Simmons JR Smith Tim Hardaway Gallinari I believe House fits in as a starter (his numbers are good enough). Some SF’s have changed from Nov such as possibly Donte Cunningham w/Spurs and Finley-Smith w/Dal; but they change things in where House probably deserves to be on this list. I have House somewhere in the middle of starting SF’s in the NBA. He is just tapping into his potential. Yes Harden and Capela pick his numbers up......but we don’t have better on the team yet. Shumpert/EGo, PLEASE!!
Strongly agree with this, his fit is just so good. It's part of why Ariza was so good for us, he had all the tools we need at that position. We need someone who can play heavy minutes, isn't afraid to shoot, can hit the 3, has a high defensive IQ, is above average defensively, and can grab some rebounds. Ariza is no all-star but he checks every box. We tried replacing him with Ennis, which didn't work out. The only bright spot for Ennis was his 3 point percentage, but that was negated by his reluctance to shoot - we need a guy that is not afraid to shoot. Ennis averaged only 3 3pa per game for us, and that's not going to cut it. Now we have Shumpert who appears to fit the bill defensively, but is Corey Brewer level on offense. It's only been 3 games, so obviously it's too early to totally write him off, but he has never been a good 3 point shooter in his career. Neither of these guys have helped much with rebounding. House just fits so well because he checks all the boxes. Good defender, not afraid to shoot, grabs rebounds, and knocks down his 3s. He even brings a bit more to the table offensively as it seems he can drive and get to the line occasionally. He's average at rebounding, but that's an upgrade over Ennis and Shump. Nobody is saying he's Paul George, but he plays such an important role that we currently have vacant. He does everything we need from that position, and currently nobody on our roster does.
Yeah, because House is a scrub who has been cut from 2 previous teams and only played 26 games thus year while EG has been in the league for almost a decade and is getting paid 18M a year. You know the hype for House has jumped the shark when poster are saying he he is better than EG and Harden wtf
Yes. Do you watch that bad movie 82 times a year, year after year? That would be mighty foolish, wouldn't it? Stop watching. If they keep complaining about Lin's playoff series everyday for months, they might be losers. Will you be a fan of that plumber and dial him up 82 times a year? That would be pretty dumb. . . . The Rockets are something you watch/do about 100 times a year. Most of your examples are not the same. Repetitive unhappiness seems really dumb.
And yet there were quite a few people here saying we needed to give Melo another try, even after the first attempt fizzled.
You struggle with reading comprehension. Of course Harden and EG are both better than House, I never said he was better than either of those players, I'm just posting stats. It is a fact that he is shooting better this year than EG has in his entire career. It is a fact that he has a higher TS than Harden.
