Tillman did say Jeff Bzdelik will be back after Thanksgiving, so D'Antoni should have some good sleep. I really doubt Morey can undo what Tillman said. Coach can't be blame for such pathetic shooting, they are pretty much last in every significant offensive category. I'd be shocked if we are stuck in those offensive numbers. Beating the next 2 teams should cure indirect blame.
SMH dude needs to grow his stache back or retire. Been making me scream @ the TV for a while now. Maybe we can trade him to save on taxes.
I still do not believe MDA is a great coach. This is Harden and Paul's team. Not MDA's. I fuggin HATE when people call this "MDA's system". Do people really not remember how Phoenix played? Or hell, even how the Rockets played before last year.
Saw the thread and wanted to congratulate coach on his timeouting tonight. He timeouted the heck out of Dallas. Nothing more than that.
Every time I see guys like Rick Carlisle micro-managing the game, shouting at his players mid-play and pointing where he wants them to go, I can't help but think, "These are professional athletes, not high school kids." Carlisle is a crap coach and I don't give a f$#k who tells me otherwise. Same for that serial-killer looking dude who coaches the Jazz*. Carlisle's record in the NBA is 743-607. 53-56 in the playoffs. Hell, Clyde could probably pull that off. And yet he's praised as a great coach because Dirk dragged him to one title. Even McHale won a bigger percentage of the games he coached, and we all know what moron he was. MDA isn't great, but I'll take him over one of those over-coaching bozos any day. * Yes, I know his name, but saying it this way was more fun.
To practice the up-tempo style the whole game (transforming each match into a three-point competition) and get good results is necessary to have excellent defensive players and very good shooters. Otherwise, the enormous amount of possessions gives the Rockets rivals the possibility of discounting important differences in the score. Houston, for the moment, does not have the defensive players needed to play that style the entire game. It is not necessary to clarify that MDA knows the game much more than me (much, much more), but I think it would be interesting that when we reach important advantages in the scoreboard, we could control the possessions in a more adequate way, fundamentally in the closing of the games.
