Philly : Tobias Milwaukee : Mirotic Toronto : Gasol Meanwhile in Boston 5 minutes after the trade deadline : "We were about to acquire this and that star but they turned down our 1000 picks"
Yeah, Morey definitely not worthy of anything this year. Also, this is the drawback and going after an injury prone star as opposed to going for depth. It was worth the gamble given last year's results, but hell of a risk. Morey paying the price now. Good for Toronto! East Coast finals will be the best series for sure: Bucks vs. Raptors!
Everything falls to dust, all depending on one decision. Toronto has started out well but has fallen off recently. I root for Budenholzer.
This also opens up a way for us to send Clint to the basket for free if we'll face them in the finals
Yet, Anthony Davis hasn't been traded to the Lakers, which is a blockbuster win for Boston. Philly, Milwaukee, Toronto are simply competing for the chance to be swept by the Warriors in the Finals.
True, but look at the overreaction on this board as if the East is building championship juggernauts. I don't trust any of them to get it done in the playoffs. Milwaukee is fool's gold with a superstar who shoots 19% from 3PT in today's NBA. Philly has Simmons who can't shoot as well while Butler looks lost at times. Raptors have Kawhi, but Lowry has a broke back and Gasol is old and nearing the end. Forget the Warriors and Rockets, I would take the Thunder over these teams any day.
Lowry / FVV Green / Powell Leonard / Anunoby Siakam / Ibaka Gasol / Monroe. 10 deep. Solid at every position. When your weakest defender is Kyle Lowry, you know your team's defense is fantastic.
I'll disagree with this. Dwight Howard's Orlando team that went to the Finals (and yes, was beaten soundly by Kobe) made it because they capitalized on their superstar's strength while shoring up the weakness. Dwight and Giannis are both athletic freaks of nature who can't really hit anything from outside the paint. But surround them with a bunch of snipers and players that can create their own offense, and that team becomes scary good. Giannis is basically Dwight, in this scenario. However, while Dwight could only be effective receiving the ball in the paint, Giannis can get the ball from anywhere and drive it in. It's a lot harder to react to Giannis while incorporating motion offense. Time will tell if any of these EC teams can actually dent the Warriors' armor. It's too bad Warriors will cakewalk through the WC while the EC looks as strong as ever.
East working hard to see who gets smacked by the Warriors in the Finals. Oooops, by Warriors I mean 'Rockets'
Milwaukee hasn't won a single playoff round since 2001. It's almost 20 years. And you talking about the chance to be swept in the Finals? They will have a parade if they make it that far. Also I would like to see how Ainge plans to have AD+ Kyrie if the Celtics lose in the second round.
