Yeah but it cost them pretty dearly. They won the day but it was a Pyrrhic victory. Walls are super useful when it comes to defending things, always have been.
Trump and his trumpards unducated whites 30% of the country who are hell bent on a vanity wall had 2 years to negotiate and compromise without even needing to shutdown and hostage the govt now the democrats control the house they selfishly shutdown and hostage the government while begging for a wall open the government first and negotiate the wall/border security
Trump may eventually do just that, but there is no way the Democrats will ever negotiate in good faith with Trump over a wall/barrier/extra fencing/whatever term is to be used. The political cost of giving Trump any sort of victory is too great.
especially knowing only 30% of the country which are mostly white uneducated male voters are hell bent on a vanity wall congress has a responsibility to the 70% diverse and educated of the country
No way? The Democrats may just do that, but you can’t possibly know for sure. History of the GOP doing exactly this when Obama stepped into the Oval Office is being projected onto the Democrats. It also discounted recent history that the Democrats did give Trump his wall funding, but he turned it down.
1500 about a 4A high school In the early morning hours of March 6, the Mexican Army advanced on the Alamo. After repelling two attacks, the Texians were unable to fend off a third attack. As Mexican soldiers scaled the walls, most of the Texian soldiers withdrew into interior buildings. Ladders! they had ladders!
Pretty sure Santa Anna was defeated in an open field by Sam H who snuck up on his army while they took a siesta during their march east through I think the Pasadena area if I remember my grade school history class. Sounds like our president learned our States history through not even the John Wayne version of the Alamo story but the Billy Bob Thornton movie version.
OK I will. Um... guerilla actions.... strategic retreat.... reforming with Sam Houston.... DAVY CROCKETT LIVES!
Trump should propose a panama style canal to separate the US from Mexico. It would be good for the wildlife in that region. In addition, it's another channel for shipping.
Well, imagine a wall around all of San Antonio with only a few hundred defenders. It wouldn't have been close. The wall helped because it was in a concentrated area that was much easier to defend.
Best estimate I can come up with is about 1300 feet of walls around the Alamo. 1300/300 = one soldier every 4.3 repeating feet. 1933 miles on the US mexico border, 5280 feet in a mile equals 10,206,240 feet. One border patrol agent every 4.3 repeating feet, and we just need 2,355,286 agents to cover the border wall as well as the Alamo. Of course there are only 19,437 border agents currently so we'll need to increase the border patrol manpower roughly 121 fold to cover the wall, but that would be to just man the wall so let's say 122 fold so they can continue to do all the things they are doing now. So that's all you need. Come up with the cash and people to increase the Border Patrol 122x in size in addition to the funds for the wall and you will be able to withstand up to 13 days of siege by illegal immigrants as occurred at the Alamo. Sounds like a foolproof plan to me.
Dude on Reddit says Trump meant to say El Paso not San Antonio referring to their urban wall. ///not The Alamo
