If I were a losing team, I would be trading waivable players for profit all day. $500k for nothing but good negotiation skills, and trading picks that will never convey. I'm in the wrong business

    MCW made MCW obsolete.

Somehow 43% of Clutchfans approved of the MCW signing back in July. I mean, sure, it was a minimum and a minimum signing can't really be that disappointing, but stylistically it seemed like a partnership doomed to fail.

But all of our FA signings between Thanksgiving and Christmas have been $$$.

Got to wait till Black Friday.

Keep in mind: Most teams just cut their players. You'd also have to give them reason to give you Cash out of their limited pool of Cash Considerations. It's easier when their is Luxury Tax Profit to be made for the sending team.

Hence, this is all an LT move...but at the expense of have Cash to use on buying Picks on Draft Day, which was the M.O. of Les and Morey each year throughout their dealings.

    MCW who?

On a more serious note, does he get a thread?

The Rockets are never getting a second round pick in this deal.

Those were more desperation moves as injuries to CP3, Ego, Ennis forced our hands.

Those offseason moves were calculated moves to improve our roster, which never happened.

Well, not signing vet minimums has zero ability to succeed.

Can't really measure true failure unless we actually know who (if anyone) we passed up....plus factoring in that MCW complete worthlessness and Tilman's demand for Morey to save him money, costs us a significant chunk our limited Cash Consideration pool to buy picks with ... (already spent some on Onuaku). Pick buying is a fav thing for Les/Morey years.

Let's not forget that Michael Carter Williams set the all-time NBA record for 3 pointers made in a game!

For some teams it isn't a pressing concern. The $500,000 doesn't make much difference.

I find it interesting that the Rockets did it with the Bulls.

Paxson has been very difficult to deal with for the Rockets under Daryl Morey.

I suppose the last time they dumped someone, it was to the Mavericks....... so anything is possible.

Michael Carter Williams highlight of his career was hitting a improbable 3 pointer for record 26 3 pointers.

This...... Daryl Morey had very little to work with financially this off season.

I am fine with the Ennis signing. No he has not been lights out, but is still useful.

The MCW and Anthony signings were low risk.

Maybe he just doesn't take enough 3's, but you can't really say the guy can't hit 3's when his percentage is higher than Green and Gordon.
