I don't expect everyone to understand that a defense that gives up 21 isn't not equally poor to an offense that just barely scored 7. That said, I'm confident that most will be able to understand that. BOB's offense combined with Watson's worst game as a professional absolutely sunk the Texans and while the defense was destroyed in the first half, they locked the Colts down in the 2nd half. They were good enough to get a competent offense back in the game.
Let's not forget that Rockets team was missing one of it's top 2 players & that Red Sox team did win the pennant so they weren't anything to scoff at, but yeah the Texans definitely **** the bed hard...
I can agree with a lot of this. There is a lot of talent on the team, and injuries have sucked to the WR depth for sure. But being unable to adjust and/or get the players is on them and they should be held accountable. There was just no ounce of preparedness coming out the gates for this game. We've seen BO'B look like a deer in headlights against good teams time and time again. Draft priority absolutely needs to have o-line and secondary high at the list.
You can only fall ass backwards into so many wins. Not impressed with Bob O'Brien's 11 wins or his shitty 3-point offense. Bill O’Brien keeps talking about how they had to go to a 2-minute offense after being down 14-0. Am I missing something here?? WTF!
So you witnessed a d-line that got zero sacks and basically no pressures on Luck, a linebacking core that allowed over 100 yards rushing, and a secondary that fell down and got torched all game long, and your conclusion was that the defense played well enough to win? You saw how easy 3rd down conversions for the Colts were, and how terrible our red zone defense was at preventing TDs, and your conclusion is that the defense played well enough to win. If that's the case, then that's on you.
Believe me, I didn't forget that. The Rockets loss hurt the most, because we had the team to win until Paul got hurt. At least the Astros put up a fight. Today's loss was more expected, but I didn't expect them all to stink up NRG like a bunch of dead skunks on a dark Texas highway out in the middle of nowhere.
Texans NEVER beat a good QB in 2018. Puppets can cling to @Indy's coaching blunder for desperation but Texans were UN-WINNED vs good QBs this season. Pathetic.
In the end, how many points you give up is what matters.....just like how many points you score is what matters. You can say what you want, but honestly we're lucky it wasn't worse given that Mr. Never lost a game by more than one score since high school tried to throw about 4 picks and that one TD was arguably a fumble out of the end zone. When it comes to what matters the defense did their job for a full half of the game and the offense was pathetic nearly the entire game. Those 2 things are not equivalent. When a defense gives up 21 to an offense that scores 27 a game, they gave your team a chance. When an offense scores 7 against a defense giving up 21 a game, they didn't do enough to give your team a chance. Simple as that.
How stupid are the Texans? They let Duane Brown, Brandon Brooks, and Ben Jones all walk. All would start.
They have a QB and a WR. But they don't have much of anything else. Having a guy like Watt is a big luxury, but if you don't have a defense that can be schemed against to neutralize him, its not going to go far in the playoffs. But what they have is a great place to start from... and they do have the cap space and picks to do some major damage.
There is one person on this team you can't blame for this loss. Spoiler: Guess who? Ka'imi Fairbairn, since he never even got to attempt a field goal kick.
