If Capela is a star, he would have to shine without Harden or CP3 and just an average Point Guard.

I still see alot of easy dunks and easy points given to the King of Cookies/Pancakes.

If he can get his shots off, without someone looking for him.

IMO he is the best rebounding Center without having to be a star. The best role playing Center for sure.

Defensively he is already a star, sure.

It is that simple.

yeah i dont think okc will be a big problem in playoffs

 

That’s a great point, Capela isn’t (at least not yet) the kind of player who can carry a team with no backcourt, but his tools really shine when put together with players that can utilize his skill set.

I agree with you on his defense. It’s occasionally still a tad inconsistent but excellent when he’s locked in, and he’s the best pancake饼 man in the league right now, in my opinion.

I think he can end up being an exemplary modern secondary/role-playing “Star” in the sense that he will put up great numbers while hopefully being a key piece on offense, defense and on the boards for a championship team.

And I keep forgetting how young he is!

 

Because the mid range is the worst shot in bball thats why it needs to be used sparingly.

Players who use their mid range alot tend to be very inefficient like Westbrick, Melo and Rudy Gay.

 

these days ppl throw around the notion of efficiency very loosely
lol its more inefficient to insist on lob to capela when its clearly taken away, make several turnovers in a row, lose the momentum and all efficiency in the world
and this happened quote often this season

use the freaking floater
use it even before the lob is taken away ...sprinkle it in between lobs and lauyps so that they may not even dare to take the lob away

 

Morey also doesn't want anyone asking for MCW to be included in trade packages. He's tricky.

Especially when they go for around 8 minutes without scoring a point. This game fully illustrated why a Westbrook led team has serious issues when the going gets tough.

Only if you are already winning with the rookie or said scrub. We are just now 3 games over .500 and its the highest we've been and its now after christmas. We dont have time for scrubs and rookies. Rockets need guys who are smart enough to make the right plays when the games on the line.

 

Westbrook was an anomaly, that's actually diluted it. And to this day, a lot of voters regret it. As for Cleveland, um what do they have to do with MVP? Bron hasn't won one in years.

 

Again, I don't disagree with you.

It's just league precedent does. This is like 2017 all over again, only difference is we're behind in rankings. Compare to those variables.

Let's set the record straight. I believe, as in me, he's a candidate stronger than years past. And he has deserved it twice if not three times. But the league won't agree. And they matter, not me. Unless you overthrow Silver and get me.

 

I just went back and looked at the shot charts for the last 8 games and I counted 11 total midrange attempts for Harden.

It’s not happening often.

Eh. That link in my post is a statistical model based on how MVP voters have voted in the past and it now has Harden 3rd.

So based on precedent, Harden is a very strong candidate this year.

Now I don’t disagree that it’s gonna be near impossible to actually win it, but I guarantee he’s top 5 in voting again if he keeps doing what he’s doing and the team stays in the playoffs.

 

Bron came in 2nd in voting and was heavily pushed by the media last season. harden is not even considered top 7 in the running according to ABC. your argument on precedent is without basis, let's move on from it.
