Are pulled hammies an indication CP3 not putting the adequate work in to prevent these types of re-occurring injuries? If so he needs to lose weight, keep conditioning level up, and stretch cause we paying him a fortune!
Damn. We're up against it, for sure. We have to hope that the Rockets can stay reasonably close in the standings while he's out. A tall order, considering our depth, or lack there of.
Depth issues comes back to a cheap owner and paying a massive amount of the cap space to a fading star.
I don't think people are denying our guys are giving it their all. People are just frustrated with a team built around James, Clint, and Paul that can't win with Paul out, and we know that Paul can't stay healthy. I feel sorry for the rest of the team.
We got Carmelo and we got Michael Carter-Williams. We got our pick of the free agents and saved part of the MLE because we will have our pick of the buyout candidates.
If we hadn't had to give up so many good players for Paul James could win without him. We just got the wrong star to play with James, a falling star.
It just occurred to me Jameer Nelson is sitting out there. Obviously up there in age but the rockets reportedly reached out to him a year ago after he was waived by denver. Could they do so again
I guess Morey was living in the past and thought the Paul he signed for what will seem like a lifetime was our best option.
it was just fine with that they a championship caliber team a few months ago that were about to eliminate GS with a full team. certainly doesn't sound like he was living in the past
Hamstrings have one of the highest rates of reoccurrence and there really isn’t anything that’s been shown to stop them from reoccurring in some athletes, especially as they age. I don’t agree with the Twitter take above about the Rockets pushing CP3 too hard; really has no bearing on whether he reinjures his hamstring or not. Guys injure their hamstrings in every sport when fully rested. I’ve seen countless baseball players injure their hamstrings sprinting out of a batter’s box. Basically, his he can rehab, do everything right, come back, and it may just happen again randomly.
. So Paul's inability to stay healthy each month and again in the playoffs wasn't a clue that he was on the decline? It's great you can win with him, but if you know that he can't stay healthy, and you lose without him, then it makes no sense to me to invest your future in "hopes" it was just a run of bad luck. Maybe we could have gotten a healthier 40 million dollar man or two 20 million dollar men to play with Tucker, Clint, and James in that starting lineup and had more of a chance. Nothing we can do about it, but yeah, I think Morey made a mistake.
Jameer Nelson (as you said), Ramon Sessions, and Mario Chalmers. Maybe Morey will sign some G-League player from the Winter Showcase going on in Vegas?
