Paul has looked horrible, obviously, he is not physically ready to perform.

No but they would have cap space to get one and a much much deeper bench.

Harden needed another ball dominant guard to sharing running the offense, Harden pounding it for the entire game has never worked out. Beverley is not a true PG.

People can dog OP all they want, but I'd definitely trade Paul on his current contract for a package of Lou WIll, Harrell, Beverley, and a 1st.

The question is how much value did CP3 bring last season to offset that? He was the key piece that took us from middling 50 win team to a 65 wins team, the best team in the NBA, the best team in Rockets history. He would have undoubtedly been worth it if he never got injured because we'd be champions right now.

The year is 2011. Kawhi Leonard or Marcus Morris?
    The answer is...spilled milk!

Last year was incredibly special IMO.

Even if Chris Paul were to end his career tomorrow and retire and we were stuck with his contract for 4 more years without having him even play I would still be happy we made the trade.

We had a championship team last year. We lost in the finals that just happened to be one round early.

We went to game 7 of that series in which I attended.

Our team, during that series, played harder than any team I've ever watched. They played with so much effort and determination. They gassed themselves so bad we ultimately couldnt make a shot.

But the defensive effort was brilliant. And I have never been more proud of a team than last years.

It was magical and it was special.

Even if it meant a 1yr window, which I dont believe one bit, it was worth it.

yup the only ones in the entire league that gave them any trouble a year ago, and actually put themselves in position to take them out. last year it was a league that consisted of the GS/Hou being the only legit championship contendors. everyone else was just playing to be part of the playoffs

To be a "grandpa", CP3 would have had to be a teenage Dad plus his child would also have to have a kid as a teenager.

That big if on the injury probability is my not liking the contract. He only helps us win if he stays healthy. When he is nursing the knee and hamstring we are down all the other bench players and starters as well, for the trade. If it had been someone younger and not injury prone, us losing all those players wouldn't have mattered to me.

Doesnt mean anything, we'd still be nowhere close to last year or anything going forward.
