We could use the Melo from 7 years ago.

 

When Nene was in the game he stayed with his man most of the time. Capela switches constantly even when he doesn’t have to. And the Rockets made no adjustments and never doubled Luka. Just allowed him to score all the points down the stretch.

 

should have just let DeAndre shoot is I guess, he hesitated and end up covering neither player basically. I don't really blame him

 

I don't give a damn about stats. We are losing! Of course he's gonna lead in assists. He literally has the ball the entire game and only passes for assists. I'm tired of watching this brand of basketball. It's depressing af. Stop bringing stats when defending harden, the numbers are obviously inflated.

 

Well maybe not 2 . But maybe we deserved like 6 or something .

Also remember harden got into foul trouble early and had to go to the bench and then when he came back be less aggressive

 

Are you going to ignore the fact that Gordon missed missed 2 wide open 3 pointers? Harden isn't known for his 3pt shooting, Gordon is. If Gordon doesn't hit the 3pt, he's nothing more than an average player.

 

I still blame Melo for a lot of things.

Never said he was the lone issue. Never said that at all. Just consistently said he was not a solution, a poor fit for the team, and does not provide the things this team needs. That is correct to this day.

Now...I did not realize the entire team was going to collapse. That much I’ll admit to.

 

Down the stretch, you have to play the percentage game, not the efficiency game because efficiency wins out over long periods of time, not short. If you’re up 2 points late in the game, a 44% 15 foot jumper is a better shot than a 36% top of the key 3PT shot (for Harden)

Gordon was actually known for his 3pt shooting in 2016, now he's known for bricking them lol

We are losing because 3pt players like Gordon are going 2/8 most nights from the 3pt line. We are losing because we give up a lot of 2nd chance points. We are losing because we go lazy on defense.

If you want to blame the only player producing something most nights, then go ahead.

 

Harden is the least of our problems and the only untouchable piece but no one is above criticism.

He was the only reason we were up by 8 anyway. He just had to close the deal like last season and 017 and to be honest most of the time he has been here. He has been spectacular in the clutch

 

I understand what you are saying . But who else do we give the ball to ? CP3 ? Last year that was a good choice , but he's fallen off a cliff . Gordon ?? Lmao

The obvious answer is to have more a ball-movement system .

But MDA's system has always been to give the ball to a playmaker and let him go to work . The only time MDA has been successful is when he had Nash and now when he's had harden ... he doesn't know wtf to do without elite pg play .
