For helping Trump to conspiring with the Russians to steal the 2016 election from Hillary Clinton? Or is it for something entirely unrelated to any of this?

I hope you are not referring to the campaign contribution nonsense. If that had any merit, they would have pursued the matter with the FEC. But they did not, because they know it has no merit.

foxnews finds it important enough that Trump's lawyer will go to prison as the 8th most important story at the moment. Even though it just broke.

    woohoo!!

...maybe he'd give it a shot if somebody would get him one of those fat Crayola crayons to write with and some construction paper to write on...

It appears that Trump did not get to the end of that memo.

"On approximately June 16, 2015, Individual-1, for whom Cohen worked at the time, began an ultimately successful campaign for President of the United States. Cohen had no formal title with the campaign, but had a campaign email address, and, at various times advised the campaign, including on matters of interest to the press. Cohen also made media appearances as a surrogate and supporter of Individual-1. During the campaign, Cohen played a central role in two similar schemes to purchase the rights to stories – each from women who claimed to have had an affair with Individual-1 – so as to suppress the stories and thereby prevent them from influencing the election. With respect to both payments, Cohen acted with the intent to influence the 2016 presidential election. Cohen coordinated his actions with one or more members of the campaign, including through meetings and phone calls, about the fact, nature, and timing of the payments."

The campaign finance stuff is bullsh**.

The payoff to Stormy Daniels is not a crime and it is not a legitimate campaign contribution. If there was anything legitimate in this claim, they would have pursued it with the Federal Election Commission, who has jurisdiction over these matters. They did not, for obvious reasons.

Also, even if they did pursue it with the FEC and the FEC did determine it to be a campaign finance violation by Cohen, and to take it one step further, if they also determined that the Trump campaign had also committed a campaign finance violation (absolutely none of which has happened), it would be the Trump campaign that would have committed the violation, not Trump.

Obama actually was determined to have committed a campaign finance violation. His campaign did, I mean. And that would be the same with Trump, if this ever got that far. Here is a link so you can see how the Obama campaign finance violation was resolved:

    Obama 2008 campaign fined $375,000

Campaign finance violations are treated as administrative violations by the campaign that is handled with a fine, paid by the campaign, and not the candidate.

So, Mueller and company still have bubkis.
