give CP3 a week or 2 off to get right and hope Harden can keep us afloat

guy is 33 and has nagging injuries yet Mike is currently playing him 35 mpg, the most he’s played since the 13-14 season

CP3 needs to be on some sort of maintanence plan...take scheduled rest games so he can last the season...this is just the 1st year of his deal, gotta think about the long game

We need Gordon back and a true back up PG to spell cp3 tho. Right now we have no options.

Well, he knows he got that mega contract and is embarrassed to have those injuries.

    Cannot help it.

Did we really have no choice? Who else in the league was going to have enough in salary cap and desperation to pay a then soon to be 33 yo undersized PG with a history of injuries 4 years and 160 million contract? Why couldn't have Morey gave him 2 years guaranteed 80 million, with a third year team option? Was he going to get competing offers?

This is always such a stupid concept

If you're hurt and playing terribly because you're hurt...stop playing. Sit out. Don't keep hurting the team.

The season is on the line already. There is no evidence to suggest that giving him a week or 2 off would get him more healthy, CP3 is already 33, Coach Mike is the guy who plays vet players with more mins, things could become worse than better.

Yeah, "we'll agree to pay you X to get you here and then go back on it once we've gotten what we wanted" is great optics for recruiting future FAs.

Ed Reed never contributed for the Texans. Reed got his money and was immediately terrible. At least CP3 has had one good season with the Rockets under his belt before getting paid and turning to jelly..

So you rather send optics out to FA and other GMs that we're so desperate to win now that we are willing to hedge our team's future for a soon to be over the hill guy without even checking his demand on the open market by offering him a long term super max?? Morey knows that with each passing season, our chances of beating the warriors diminishes.

This is the first time I've even seen Clutch too ashamed of the Rockets to start the next game thread!

He would be in the AARP league, too much competition in wheelchair basketball games.

Morey knew the risk when he traded for CP3 and promised to max him out. We all knew the window was last year and maybe this year. No one inside the Rockets organization or outside of it should be surprised by this.
