I really think Ennis starting over Carmelo doesn't work. We're throwing Ennis to the wolves starting him when he hasn't really earned it yet. Having Melo and Gordon come off the bench at the same time hurts them both the same way it did when we had Lou. Also hurts because Green goes out there as well. So you have three guys who are all supposed to "fill the basket" all looking for shots at the same time. Also, saw the Pels strategy of just letting Ennis or Tucker shoot it while sticking with Clint, Harden, and Paul made it where, yes, Tucker hit some shots but it killed our rhythm by making it to where Harden and Paul were basically invisible while Davis was taking the game over.
I don't even know what to say aside that the game was absolutely embarassing...i don't even have the strenght now to watch all the "dude x sucks" threads, not that i'm losing much, but still, this game really ruined my evening...
I really wish we would have just paid Luc. I trust Morey, but MLE money for buy outs is .....lol idk man.
What frustrates me was not the loss or how much pts we gave. It's the fact that we tried very hard in 3rd qtr and everybody showed up, but still didn't win that qtr. That's a good sign of a team with bad defense. And that's not gonna be easily/quickly fixed. Maybe our offense and Harden will start to look decent in next few games. But I'm hving serious concern abt the defense.
Losing our defensive coach shows. Ariza was so freakin’ overrated, and Moute was injured most of last year. What’s missing are guys that can defend against taller PF’s and centers like Davis. Neither Ariza or Moute could handle Davis. Hell, even Randle went off for 25. Capela was signed to play defense but he was a total non-factor tonight, and no one guarded Mirotic as he dropped 30... 30!!! I know we have a lot of new faces and I think it will take time to gel but if this season is a bust then Morey basically locked in an aging Paul and high-priced center in Capela with no room to sign a top FA.
You know it's not really a knee jerk but this Rockets team, no matter how successful, has always had this sense of disappointment and it's always due to one thing. Theres just no heart no fire on the court. Harden has always been a great RS performer but it's been clear to see the will to win at any cost isnt there. I'm not hating or trying to be negative I just dont feel the passion. I hope CP is enough to get this team through to the end
This misses the point. The defensive scheme and coaching were, quite obviously, terrible. The Bzdelik loss is going to hurt us regardless who's here. He was important. Adding bad defensive players doesn't help.
