Agree on 8.5, and thought they made Armstrong too emo. But they got a ton of the details right on the missions.
Christopher Robin - 7.75/10 We've seen Christopher Robin twice and loved it! Saw it with our daughter (the software developer) living here in Austin, and then saw it again when our son came in from Dallas to visit. Our son's the one that recently graduated and intends to get into animation and other stuff I don't have a complete handle on, probably games. Maybe I should ask @DaDakota if he could use a very talented young fellow. The flick seamlessly blends live acting and animation. Some of the best I've seen. It does a marvelous job revisiting Christopher Robin as an adult who thinks he's outgrown Pooh and his friends, but events prove otherwise. The animation could be from the best of the Disney films, in my opinion. Ewan McGregor is so good that it's hard for me to imagine anyone doing it better. Go see it while it's still in theaters. You may be pleasantly surprised.
The Big Sick. 9/10 I really loved the characters and the acting. Never heard of it but saw it was trending on Prime so I read the plot. Seemed interesting enough. Glad I watched.
Jurasic World Fallen Kingdom 5.5/10 Did this whole movie feel like it was setting up for Dino Riders?
Bohemian Rhapsody 9.5/10 I have no idea why I’m not giving it a 10. If you love music like a lot of you I know here do, you have to see this. I think it’s brilliant and I’ll see it again. Blown away.
600 millas Cartel movie with Tim Roth, had a Sicario 1 lite vibe to it, Tim Roth was great in it. 7.5/10
Planning to see this with the wife. Would it be ok for my 11yr old daughter to see this? Is there a lot of sexual innuendo? She likes their music
I've read they keep it pretty innocent and positive, totally deserving its PG-13 rating. (Some even criticize it for not showing more of the band's real life and Mercury's real life.) So, even though I haven't seen it, I'd think you're good to go with your daughter. (God knows what 11 year olds see these days anyway. Yikes.)
Not sure what you want your daughter seeing. The sexual side of FM is definitely a big part of the film. I don’t remember there being any nudity. Drugs are involved some too, but you have to know what you’re looking at, because it’s not shoved down your throat.
JFK - hadn't seen it in years until last night. Possibly the most Oliver Stoney Oliver Stone movie ever. As a film, it's entertaining, very well made and very well acted. As any sort of historical study, it's still totally chockfull of falsehoods and paranoid b.s.
it ends at freddy's death ya? none of that "how the band survived and moved on post freddy" bullpoop?
Thanks, mikol. We're planning to see it and have been hoping that it's well done, having seen the original group back in the day. They put on tremendous performances. I hope they capture that. Sounds like they've managed to do it really well.
