well the only useful information here is that Sarvver has become more involved. Let's see if the Cavs can fleece them for Kevin Love or Minny be able to get rid of Wiggins or Teague. Or even Blake Griffin potential destination??
I think that both these decisions were from Sarver and that while McDonough wasn't very good at handling players when it has to do with divas with brother complex like the Morris they would have created problems in most teams around the league. How naive and low IQ you have to be to believe that in the modern NBA you will never get traded away from your brother? What can a GM do when the owner meddles and demands to sign vets and even who knows chooses the ones he wants signed.
Isn't he an ex coworker with Ainge in Boston? Anyway yeah, he had problems with Dragic, Bledsoe, Morris, i guess others i/we didn't know/remember...
Don't even try to find logic or reason here. Last year they fired Earl Watson after three games. Sarver being Sarver.
It is going to potentially shake loose a number of deals, depending on which direction the Suns go. Do they go rebuild and accept another season or two of losing to accumulate assets for Booker/Ayton or do they decide to win now and move some of their underachieving players to try and make the playoffs now.
Yes he was in the Boston front office for ten years, he is considered good at scouting as well. I wouldn't mind him joining the Rockets front office, but my understanding is that isn't even being considered.
If Sarver is more involved, hard to see suns going further into tank mode. I'd predict they will actually make more desperate moves that mortgage their future for short term gains. I hope this doesn't hinder Ariza's chances to get bought out this season and resign with Rockets (if that was indeed the plan).
Damn... Morey dodged a bullet. Suns acquire Ryno and gets fired immediately. Good thing Les was too cheap to fire Morey after signing Ryno
Suns gonna Sun. McDonough is a bad GM but why keep him around for the draft, FA signing period and Anderson trade only to gire him?
Kevin McHale Eddie Johnson James Jones Mike Zarren Troy Weaver Long term my guess is Troy Weaver gets the job (total shot in the dark).......... another one to watch is Trajan Langdon. The Suns will have to get someone thirsty enough to deal with an over bearing owner that is flighty. Maybe Jason Kidd enters the picture again.
I would. This is a surefire carreer suicide. The one and only qualification required for the Suns GM job is to be able to say yes, and nod your head. The best bootlicker gets the job.
