That was what i was thinking...at worse the Warriors will match and pay him more than what they want to do lol. Jokes aside i'm not sure he's worth it...or is he? Doesn't seem like he had that great of a season last year after there were some pretty high expectations on him.
I don't get it. Is he a defensive beast or something? He was averaging 4 points on 40% shooting on a stacked team.
Steve Kerr said the Warriors are looking to add some depth along the wing. Patrick McCaw remains a restricted free agent, but he declined to pick up his qualifying offer with the Warriors and appears to be trying to force his way out of Golden State. Guys like Joe Johnson, Corey Brewer, Jamal Crawford and Nick Young are all available, but the 15th man on the roster in Golden State won't be a major impact player in fantasy hoops.
Seems to be a committed defensive player since he was a rookie. Decent handles. If he could hit a 3, he could probably be a rotation player. Would have been a better pickup than MCW imo. MCW is probably better at the moment, but if we're trying to use these guys on the wing, Mccaw is younger, slightly taller and with a significantly larger wingspan. Plus he shoots 3's about as well as MCW already. Added bonus: subtracting depth from Warriors while Livingston declines + pissing in Kerr's cereal.
He means they can match any “likely” deal. Technically, since GSW is over the apron, they don’t have complete RFA protection,,,they lose the Arenas rule protection. They can simply be outbid with the Full, non Taxpayer MLE. In fact, they can be outbid with $1 above the Early Bird, which caps out at 105% of league average salary. btw: this also will apply to Jordan Bell next year. GSW will not have full Arenas Protection, since they are over the apron. This is what happens when you don’t insist on 3yr deals like Morey does.
