You're probably right about Ervin and Braxton. I personally prefer Coates over Braxton. He is a reliable deep threat and if he doesn't make the catch he's good at drawing PI. In my mind, he's a backup for Fuller as the deep threat. I look at it as Hop/Braxton, Bruce/Coutee, Fuller/Coates. Hopkins is the most reliable health-wise.
I also mentioned that there is uncertainty in Rankin currently and Watson is your most important piece. They are in win now mode, and protecting Watson is more important than a 6th wideout with two guys who can play his role(Ellington/Coutee)
Having multiple competent receivers for Watson to get the ball to is a great way to keep him healthy. If no one can get open, that's when really ugly coverage sacks happen.
Can't wait to see this team all together on the field again....for longer than 5 min. Pumped for next weekend. Even with it being the damn Patriots..... Quite the high, great feeling being a Houston sports fan. Astros on a roll again, football around the corner. Love it.
Oakland may trade K.Mack. Should Texans be interested? Can they be interested moneywise? Who would they give up?
Yeah, that is for sure. Would you let Clowney go? I probably would, because I think as soon as he gets a big money deal, he is going to get a hang nail and remain on the sidelines for the rest of his career. I really don't think he loves the game.
If I had to pick yes I would take Mack. Much better pass rusher and more consistent. Hopefully Clowney has one of those monster type seasons this year.
Considering salary, position, and roster, I'm going with Clowney. The versatility and his imposing nature does crazy things to opposing offenses even if he's not getting the numbers. Plus Mack is looking for more money being an edge rusher and former DPOY
I would take Clowney over Mack pretty much any day. Mack is more of a Mercilus type, Clowney is closer to a JJ Watt type, a terror in both the run and pass game that demands constant double teams. Also, Clowney is 2 years younger.
The most astonishing thing I learned from camp this year is that our Texans drink three bottles of water before going to sleep! three! Just thinking of it makes me want to goooh peeea
what good does being 2 years younger get you if you can't stay on the field. Mack has not missed a game. Mack has played 36% more games than Clowney has.
Clowney hasn't shown that he can't stay on the field except for his rookie season. Other than that he's been on the field.
Clowney has missed 2 games over the last 2 years and single handedly held the defense together last season after damn near the entire staring squad ended up on the IR Also, over those 2 seasons, there is exactly 1 player in the NFL that has more tackles for loss than Clowney, Chandler Jones. Mack, despite not missing a game, trails Clowney by 7 over those 2 seasons....so what I'm saying here is that your take is a bit outdated.
