Do you remember the Astros last July/August? Or the 91-36 Dodgers that were on pace to possibly be the best team ever suddenly going 1-16 out of nowhere? This kind of stuff happens. And it happens all the time. The Astros will be fine. They are going thru a crazy slump - it happens.
Not as phased as some of you are apparently. People forget how putrid they were last August, especially around the time of the hurricane. They had a stellar week last week... horrid the week before... bad again this week. Oakland putting pressure on them is fine... the Astros have to play better and they know it... and most likely this will happen, given the team that has been there the other 90% of the season, along with last season.
Couldn’t agree more. For example, Curtis Granderson cleared waivers today. He can probably be had for peanuts and would help the Astros outfield situation.
I wonder what kind of odds you could've gotten in Vegas two weeks ago that the Astros would miss the playoffs? Wow.
The division is much better this year. The Astros don't have the luxury to go through another pathetic August.
Tucker needs to go back to triple A and Gattis needs to ride the pine in favor of White. I’m sorry, but when you have runners on 1st and 2nd with one out in the 7th inning down two, making outs on the first pitch you see is embarrassing. It’s not asking too much to expect major league hitters to work counts in that situation.
Wade Davis has been getting absolutely railed lately. Let’s see if we can keep that trend going.. I’m doubtful
It's pretty clear that Springer and especially Altuve are far more valuable. Even when Correa was out we were still doing fine, it was when Altuve and Springer went down when things went downhill. And now with Correa back it's hardly any different.
Major and Nick, what would it take for y’all to be worried? When we are in second place by the weekend, will y’all still be insisting that all is well? I just can’t comprehend how anyone can be trying to play Baghdad Bob right now.
The Astros likely still make the playoffs.... having said that, how many games up were they when they went through this last year.
