True thats a line up i liked even last year. But thats one that u dont put out until extreme circumstances it's like the death lineup you don't want to play that all the time you let Gordon stay in his role cuz remember he's been injury-prone until last recent years you don't want to mess that up playing him too many minutes
I have no argument with your statement, but...when the Rockets signed Gordon and Anderson they said they had researched their injury history and blamed it on random issues, not something ongoing. So far so good. Oh dear god, don't tell me I just jinxed them!
I know we don't negotiate with divas, but honestly it would be better to let him start. If we bench him, this could end up being a dramatic media circus that would only hinder our entire team. Or we just let him start and let him be happy. At least with the latter, there's a chance of him playing well with the likes of cp3 and harden. Maybe he does end up playing terrible, and that would be another fiasco, but I'd rather take the gamble of him prospering, as opposed to a guarantee circus of him being benched to start
Personally I don’t see who would start over Melo currently. I’m not sold on Ennis and I think Gordon’s role is perfect (if it ain’t broke don’t fix it) and Tucker is really a 4 in today’s NBA.
I don't think Daryl Morey signed him to be something other than himself. We want him to be himself, but the best version of himself.
So if not melo, who is projected to start? Interchanging a Harden/Gordon and Melo/CP3 duo on the court at all times honestly sounds really nice. Really just hoping we can net a solid 3D guy before playoffs.
Although it would be better to have the overall defensive line up along with CP3 and JH13 as starters, I think it would be a mistake to have Melo coming off the bench. It would reduce his overall effectiveness. He needs minutes to integrate with Chris and James, otherwise the situation will become similar to playing with Westbrook.
I beg to differ, public opinion can influence the decision making of the organisations, and its well known and documented Morey reads the board. He might have started or read this thread right now as a brainstorming session.
Better to reduce his effectiveness than ours. It's not a given that if one player is more effective that the team will be better. If 70+ games of occasionally playing with Westbrook is not enough to get integrated, then it's pointless to try. Melo will get acclimated with this team very quickly. Whether he will give consistent EFFORT on defense is the only issue here.
There is no doubt that consistent effort on defense is the key. I'm not happy to seeing him starting, for only this reason. His poor performance in OKC off the bench, made me to reluctantly suggest, that he should start.
He should play when CP3 is on the court at the beginning of games and subbed out when CP3 sits. Then beginning of 2nd when Harden sits, CP3 and Melo should come in together.
