Harden/Melo???? I mean it could work well but I don't want neither feeling gun shy at the same time. I guess we'll see when the pre-season starts
I agree that he is not worth that amount, but his first year here he played very well and made us a legitimate three point team along with Gordon. Prior to those two we had to live off of Beverly hoisting up threes. We have had very good records each year with him starting. He is not killing this team (when healthy) and we need the knock down threes for D’Antoni’s offense.
You’re right, you’re incredibly misinformed. If Anderson was hurt he would not have been playing, sorry. Shooters shoot.
So when exactly is he going to be signed; nothing on the dotted line to my knowledge. He could still go else here. What is the hold-up?
Finalizing the legal terms of the buyout is my understanding... not sure how much 'sequencing' actually matters, but that could play a role.
There is no buyout. He’s being waived (aka he’s not taking a penny less than his full contract). But he must clear waivers first which I’m guessing is what’s happening.
Which...is the job of any NBA coach, no? Figure out how to make maximal use of your players, while minimizing their weaknesses? Heck the job of ANY coach? Then the player question becomes a lot simpler. Do they have something to offer that you need? a definite YES on Melo.
Sure, he made the team relevant in the regular season, but the point remains, he ain't ever done it in the playoffs and he never will. So I'll give you that he's had bad luck w/ injuries, and that he's given us very good production on the 3-pt line, and even drew a lot of defenders when running the Pick-n-pop. But he can never last a full season without an injury, he can never do well in the playoffs, and without his 3s he is completely useless. I'm not saying you said it, but a lot of people live in this fantasy world that somehow he's able to post-up and turn over the shoulder for a fadeaway and stuff like that. Lets not get delusional -- this guy is as one dimensional as one can get. When he's not hitting 3s, he is entirely useless. He brings literally NOTHING else on the table. He can't pick up the pace on defense to make-up, he can't drive the lane off a screen, he can't attack the weakside, he can't rebound, he can't defend the paint, he can't block......... do I need to continue? You mentioned Pat Bev, I'd rather have him compared to playoff Ryno. And disclaimer, I'm not hating on Morey -- I can live w/ Morey's mistakes if he can get the Rockets to the 1st seed. But it isn't fair to not count mistakes either, lets keep it real.
This is real talk, but reality isn't good when the Warriors had the best record of all time and added Durant. Then Cousins. Duran'ts cowardice has ruined basketball for fans without extreme homerism. Rockets don't have enough to compete unless they can somehow get a Jimmy Butler level talent at either forward spot. As for Carmelo , he needs to know his role and come off the bench in a Ginobili role. You can't have so much bad defense outside of Paul and Capela starting, and if he's hot, he can finish games. Starting is just a word it don't mean nothin.
This does not make sense when they took them 7 games which is the only team to do so since Durant has been there. Rockets are right there with the Warriors.
