A lefty bat, please, to counter our righty-heavy lineup. Davis has made progress, though. Yes, he has made some bad plays at third, but playing him at first and Yuli at third should be fine, and he's improved his hitting. Also, let's see if we can end the Choo Choo train's on base streak tonight. Still has one more plate appearance, unfortunately.
As long as Altuve is out a team would be stupid to pitch to Bregman in a big spot with Reddick hitting behind him.
Ugh! So aggravating! Meanwhile, Altuve said he's feeling much better. That plus Correa's rehab stint about to start, hopefully we can heat up. Tyler White scratched from today's Fresno linuep. I'm praying this leads to a trade and not Altuve to the DL. One #AstrosTwitter guy suspects Dickerson? Thoughts? I was open to trading for him last offseason when the Rays designated him. Though the odd nature of the DFA led me to believe he may have a non-baseball problem, I had some opposition, but since that appears not to be the case, and he's had a hot season, I like the idea.
Are they looking into more trades like getting another bat? Rangers lost the series to Orioles for goodness sakes.
Yeah this lineup is sad right now. Until Altuve can play possibly hitting Gurriel 3rd and Gattis 4th (Gattis is at least starting to hit the ball with authority again). Reddick is a joke in the 3rd spot. No protection for Bregman.
Keep it up. Turn in a stink bomb August like last year and we will be outside looking in come October. Why not small ball Stassi to 3rd? What happened to that part of baseball. Our bats are COLD sometimes you have to manufacture runs. Infuriating that we don’t even bother to try. Just swing wildly for the fences and miss.
This was always going to be the time of the year where things were going to get sluggish... coincidently, same time as last year. Obviously the wrong (or right) time to have critical members of the lineup missing time. I expect them to have a pretty bad road trip... and many here will be panicking like the dickens.
You should ask the manager that. I'm with you but on the flip side, when we have those scoring innings they usually end up in avalanches. There's no crying in baseball and there's no small ball in the AL.
Chalk this one up as a loss. They could obviously still win it but I’d be very surprised. The lineup needs to get healthy and back in their groove before SEA and OAK get within a couple games of the division lead
Metrics are metrics. But you have to know when your bats are cold and those things are liquid nitrogen sticks right now. You have to throw metrics out the window and try to turn lemons into lemonade. Or simply lose like we are on our way to doing. Hate to see us lose to these chumps
