I think we're still screwed if we lose Capela

In that case, DM will look very stupid if he does that.

Houston will not give up anything. We do not need to get involved in a Melo trade.

OKC already said they will waive/stretch him if he is not traded (for a butout purposes). The trade would require OKC to send out picks, which they don't have many or give up talent. Chances are Melo will get bought out and stretched.

Only way Houston loses him, if he refuses to show up, or if he decides to go back to Europe. In that case, it will become obvious that he is another immature D-Mo. Nobody needs that on their team.

Dude thank you. This isn't that complicated of a trade but like The Cat said I was super happy when Nets and Hawks trades went down because that sort of forces their hand.

CHI trying to zap the most they can out of OKC. That's why it could drag on. Bulls have all the power here.

Bro, don't talk **** about DMo. He went and got an offer from another team (The famous Morey line/way of dealing with RFAs) but even then Morey did DMo dirty and didn't match the full contract, refusing to include bonuses that Brooklyn included in the offer sheet.
Morey is amazing GM, probably best at a lot of categories of GMing, but when it comes to dealing with RFAs he has a bad history and you must stop blindly taking Morey's side while ******** on every Rocket who's contract expired with the Rockets. If Morey lowballs a player it's just a business, but when a player refuses to take a lowball offer then that player is a Judas? Cmon man

P.S. I agree that Morey shouldn't overpay RFAs, but he does it in a bad taste and him overpaying FAs only makes it worse. Guy gives 80 million to random dudes, maxes out CP3 after 1 season while also giving up half roster to get him in the first place. But then tries to rob every Rocket he drafted and who arguably played better than they got paid for. I'm looking at it from players perspective. I get both sides, I wish that more fans would.

P.S.S. Remember when Clint and his agent had to force Morey to bring him over right away, because Morey wanted to stash Clint overseas? Clint did good job in his rookie season in limited minutes he got (the famous defense on Curry out on perimeter). No way Clint does any "hometown" discounts when he wasn't given any himself.

Oh and sorry, I forgot that this thread was about E7MO. He's fat and bad, Morey don't do it.

    Since Chicago has cleared up $20M in space. I can see the following trade;

    OKC - OUT Melo and a #1
    OKC - Felicio

    Chicago - OUT Felicio
Chicago - IN Anderson #1 Draft pick OKC and #2 Draft Pick Houston

Houston - OUT Anderson and #2 Draft Pick
    Houston - In Melo

OKC saves roughly $20M in salary cap space this yr., Chicago picks up a #1, a #2 and can trade Anderson in the future and Hou gets Melo and Anderson off the books.

How would we lose him for this upcoming year?

5 yrs and 85 M is a generous offer, plus incentives to reach 90 M. I know he does low ball them, but Clint needs to make up his mind to either accept it or reject it, if he is unable to get a better offer than anyone else. I totally agree with you about not going after Melo. Harden needs positive people around him, otherwise this season could get very ugly.

Why would they take Anderson's terrible 2 year contract for a low 2nd when they want a 1st for Melo's terrible one year contract.

But it is never Melo causing the drama, OKC said they want him out. Melo said he wants out. Melo said he would waive his NTC to a team that would waive him. Melo basically bending over doing whatever OKC wants to get him out of there. OKC is dragging their feet.
