Hey Gorilla, not one penny comes out of your pocket. Rockets have a 3 year window, Batum on books for 3 years. Better someone on the books who can start then someone on books for 2 years less who never sees the floor. Let Morey figure out how to trade Batum after he increases his value while he helps the team rack up W's on the floor.
Really? Ryno is shorter term and cheaper. Batum has been on a down swing since being shipped out of Portland. He could thrive here, but as it stands that contract is more of a risk than Anderson's. I would rather roll the dice with Ryno and see how trade-able that deal is in February. Now if Charlotte could sweeten the deal with picks I might listen.
“We feel confident,” Morey told ESPN’s Tim MacMahon. “We need our best team on April 15. We’re going to either sign or trade or something to get us back to where we need to be, and we also really like our group.” Confidence can be a great thing; this decision, though, might skew more toward hubris. It was tough to see the latter-day Carmelo Anthony being the piece that could get the Rockets where they needed to be this time last year. After what we saw unfold this season in both Oklahoma City and Houston, it seems unfathomable. ‘Melo is one of the great players of his generation, a pure scorer who’ll waltz into the Hall of Fame the second he’s eligible, but he’s not the guy the Rockets need to keep pace with the Warriors. It’s admirable that the Rockets remain willing to take big swings in pursuit of an elusive championship, but this time, the risk-reward calculus sure seems to be tilted the wrong way for Houston’s title hopes.
We just need to have a third man who can dribble and score so we can have two elite guys on the floor at all times
Facts media will doubt the impact of the move no different then the CP3 acquisition... but we know The Rockets! We are about to score like 130 plus lol
Yeah, I've been stating it since we lost Mbah Moute. He never got PT vs WARRIORS and when he did... it was really bad. That loss only hurts in the sense... we lost depth. Outside of that, he can be replaced with a James Ennis or someone like that. Ariza is the one that will hurt but will soften with a Melo signing (they bring different things to the table) and an emergence of Melton. People panic too often.
They do it all the time. They did it with Chandler Parsons. They made it seem like the Rockets were losers by picking up Ariza and now the Rockets are losers for not overpaying a 33 year old Trevor. smh
