Seriously, two teams who didn't have a clue where they were going or what to do next can make anyone look bad.

 

Carmelo Antthony will thrive in this offense, teams will not be able to cheat off of him. Yes he is a bit of a defensive liability but winning changes players. If we get Carmelo look for a new Phoenix rising from some ashes....

 

How about when MDA was coaching him in NY. The team sucked with him. Then it did great when Melo was injured. It sucked again when he came back. His stats actually looked pretty good then. He just didn't make his team good, maybe worse.

Maybe CP3 can rein him in. IDK. I feel that a lot of "he would thrive in our system" is just wishful thinking. If you follow Melo's career, you know that he also looked good statistically but his team never thrived around him. Even the Denver years with a very good team around him, he butted head with his coach. Yes, team culture makes a difference. Melo is what he is not just because of the team he has played for.

 

The year Denver was in the western conference finals Melo was still a terrible influence on that team?

Crazy for not wanting Melo. If he's here at worst we're paying him the MLE. That's a very low risk-high reward scenario. If he doesn't work out so be it. If he does, then we get a quality player for cheap.
