CP3's contract has nothing to do with why Lebron isn't here. Lebron didn't want to be here. That was his choice. He wanted to go to LA and has probably been California Dreamin for over a year now. Lebron has NEVER put friendship above his brand and he wasn't going to do it this offseason. CP3's contract MIGHT, POSSIBLY be a factor in losing Ariza and not adding other guys, but we don't know that.
Why? We will not make it out of the WCF in the next 4 years anyways. May as well have a good solid teammate who is not a cancer in the locker room and sells jerseys. Would you rather trade his one contract for a combo of Melo, Dwight and Aldridge? Hell I still wouldn't take Kawahi.
correct, and even that I will blame on Ryno’s atrocious deal being on our books before I even think about going after CP3
For you and the people that can´t read things until the end. I don´t blame him at all for picking the money, just cut the crap about winning badly. In the end, fill in your pockets and move on. "still had no cap" "socialism to other players" "LBJ wouldn´t come here of he had taken less" All arguments to try to dismantle something it wasn´t the point of my message. a) CP3 took the money b) Team will just get weaker because of no cap to resign the key free agents we had this year. c) Expecting the billionaire to pay tax up to hard cap in his first season as owner is just crap d) Rockets won´t win, and will be locked until 2022 season. e) Be happy CP3, I don´t wish you nothing but good things. f) It will be the first in 10 years that I won´t renew my league pass subscription.
This is my honest opinion. I didn't read even the OP. But CP3, Lebron, Michelle Roberts and the NBPA are the number ONE culprits of this situation with the Warriors. I don't want to be an elitist or mean, but unfortunately most of the players of the nba are at best highschool educated. There are many (ie Wall, Waiters, Rose) where it's even doubtful that they can even read. These people have voting rights. Well good luck have these voters understand how it's best for the to smooth the cap rise. And then you have Lebron and CP3 who are superstars and they influence the decisions and who's interest they care about most? The poor roleplayers? NO. The parity of the league? LOL NO. They are in there to safeguard their superstar rights and especially the rights of the 30+ y.o stars.
I said this at the time. Lebron and CP3 were part of the leadership that fought back against the cap smoothing and scared players into thinking the NBA would never give them their money. The NBA had great proposals to make sure all players benefited from the rising cap. Instead we got the cap "spike" that was pointless and was a huge benefit to players in that free agent year. It blew up everything.
Yes. At the best case you can blame them for incredible shortsightness. A less naive and realistic view is to suspect they have had nefarious intentions. AKA they promote their own agenda at the expense of the rights of the vast majority of the players. Who aren't superstars, who aren't 30+ y.o. The NBA players are not wise in their decisions. They have voted people to represent them, whose direct interests are against their own. Instead of voting some roleplayers the superstars care about superstar money.
Jeez one signing and some of you can’t get out of bed. One day at a time, guys. Don’t give up that easily. Part of the fun is the progress towards the championship. We have two stars and hopefully a budding one in Capela. We have time for Morey to try to improve the roster. We have a good chance for maybe another year or two. That’s something you couldn’t say since the 90’s.
I believe he would've signed for $120mil if it was presented, but i doubt Morey did that. Oh wel, it is what it is.
"I want elite players on my team but I know jack **** about the CBA and salary cap space but all I know is that these players need to take less for the greater good. If i were offered $40 million dollars or $30 million dollars I would take the latter because by golly it helps our team create fictitious cap space to sign non-existent free agent A"
This is all true. But even with all that, really none of this happens if KD doesn't make the biggest b**** move of all time. I'm sure of the parties involved were aware that someone could make SUCH a b**** move to ruin the league, they would have reconsidered.
Business is business. We all want to make what we are worth. Good labor is worthy of its hire. Can’t blame him or anyone.
