Porter could potentially be the next generational talent. He was projected #1 out of HS, which obviously means nothing (see Shabazz Muhammad). But dude was a beast in HS, played in pro-am with Jamaal crawford and balled out. I'd take a chance on him.
What's stupid is Ariza re-signing for the vet minimum when he can get waaaay more money in FA. This may also be his last contract. Hey, I'm all for it, but I don't see why you're so optimistic about it happening. Yes, especially if LeBron comes where he now has a bench role on top of that? He starts with almost any other team he signs with. Surely using the MLE instead of vet minimum deals has benefits, I'm just not sure at the moment what those are? Length of contract? Tax ramifications?
Did anyone figure out WHY these guys were trying to avoid Memphis? I think Mamba had a similar view on Memphis.
What does Bickerstaff matter though? Does he really have that much of an impact? Its not like there are a ton of great coaches in the league right now.
I went to Memphis a couple years ago for a wedding... I thought it was an ok place... Beal stretty was pretty cool... I don't get the hate.
