It's definitely going to be a great battle of the minds for sure. The last time we thought there were two legitimately good GMs duking it out in a trade, one came away with what should be a 3 time MVP and the other came away with a package that ended up having Steven Adams as the best player in the haul. Man...that was quite the rape.
Get R Done, Ainge. Lebron to Houston would almost be likely.. not buying the Dame to LAL stuff but you never know with LA.
What if the Lakers went Seal circa 1991 and traded Ball and Kuzma plus a future 1st to Phoenix for this year's #1, then shipped that #1, plus this year's #25, with Ingram, Hart for Kawhi? They're going to have to find a take for Deng of course but would the Spurs say no to #1, #25, and Ingram for Kawhi?
And tbh, i don't even know how to evaluate Pop/Buford in terms of trades, i actually don't remember a single trade they made, outside of the one where they gifted us Scola lol. On the other Ainge is probably the best gm out there, i mean, i'm a fanboy of Daryl but he said it himself so, lol.
Why would PHX make that deal? That future first has no value obviously because you are making the Lakers a super team. So would you trade the #1 pick for Ball and Kuzma? No shot.
I feel as tho the Lakers gonna get played big time this offseason. Fakers fans thinking they gonna get PG13 and LeBron might end up with neither.
Man I don't know. The NBA summer got me thinking a bit sideways at times. Love this time of the year.
I don't see Dame to LA but in some ways Dame George and Lebron is better than it would be with Kawhi because it would give them another ball handler
Since the NBA is so predictable after the super-teams have been formed, the exciting part of the NBA is actually in June/July when all the rumors of the super-teams being formed is going down.
Kawhi has not officially asked for a trade yet. Spurs have come out and said they haven't heard anything.
This is true...but why did he consistently throw Kawhi under the bus this season in the media? Doubt this situation is similar to any of his past ones.
If Pop traded his teams superstar to the LAL to help them form a superteam he would essentially be announcing his own retirement. I doubt he is interested in a long rebuild project.
Kawhi Leonard legitimately threw a season. Horrific behavior for the franchise's face. Pop being discontent and frustrated is 100% warranted. Consider it, he THREW the SEASON. Not just go through the motions with laziness, not just being a media distraction(well, not just that anyway), not being undisciplined and impossible to coach like Melo with D'Antoni. He literally just quit entirely. Unforgivable.
In addition, Boston wants him and would have a super team with him. If San Antonio does trade him, he’ll be a Celtic. Very simple.
Let’s not do the trade-machine thing, OK? There are obvious trading partners. Boston kicked the tires on a Leonard trade in February, and they will do it again now. Philadelphia makes sense (time to hire a GM, Josh Harris), and the Clippers have a pair of first-round picks and (possibly) DeAndre Jordan to deal. And don’t dismiss Sacramento. The Kings have made calls about their No. 2 pick, league sources told Yahoo Sports, and are just bonkers enough to roll the dice on Leonard as a rental. Realistically, Leonard is unlikely to be dealt to a team he doesn’t want to play for. And while his list of preferred destinations could expand beyond Southern California, for now it’s one of the few regions we know he wants to play in. San Antonio has zero interest in Lonzo Ball — or, more accurately, the circus that Ball brings with him — but a Brandon Ingram, Kyle Kuzma, draft-pick(s) deal (with Luol Deng tossed in to make the money work) is compelling, particularly if other teams, wary of Leonard walking in 2019, don’t go all-in with offers. Ideally, the Spurs would probably prefer to send Leonard East, out of conference, like the Pacers did with George. Boston — someday we are going to get to a point where we don’t have to mention Boston’s ability to acquire anyone because of its proverbial Iron Bank of assets — could float a Jaylen Brown/picks-centric package, while Philadelphia could offer more cap relief than anyone else. But would Leonard want to play there?
