The only way we can get Butler is if (and when) he tells the Wolves he's not coming back. At that point Gordon plus filler would make sense.
That’s a good point, and if he stays in SA it will be because of the 220 million and likely the promise that the Spurs are HIS team. I’ll say this... IF Leonard forces himself to LA, I may be done being a serious fan of the NBA after the league already has too much say over the refs and calling games. The NBA needs to remember it isn’t just entertainment, it is a competition too. If I wanted just entertainment I would watch the Globetrotters or WWE.
I hope so, it is better for the NBA as a competitive league if Leonard stays. Leonard is very hard to read.
Kuzma Ball and Ingram are a great trade package. I don't see how the Lakers will be taking advantage of Portland if they trade them for Lillard.
That also allows them to wait for the Warriors to hopefully age and suck because their current team sure isn't beating them anytime soon.
That is an excellent return for Lillard if the Blazers decide to deal him. That is potentially 3 long term starters. I am not as fond of Ingram as most, but if nothing else he has trade value.
So they lose the depth needed to beat GS and Houston. We’ve heard that Lebron would have to go to a gutted Houston team as a reason for it not happen It really is simple to me.. if Morey can get Lebron without giving up Tucker, it’s a no-brain, slam dunk decision for both parties
Lets combine some rumors. Thinking out loud, not advocating. To Phoenix Clint Capela (Snt high dollars) Ryan Anderson To Houston Jimmy Butler Tyson Chandler To Minnesota: Josh Jackson Chris Paul / Eric Gordon Jimmy Butler / Gerald Green James Harden / Luc Bah Moute Trevor Ariza / PJ Tucker Tyson Chandler / Nene / Zhou Qi Are we better equipped to handle Goldenstate ?
That's 3 "long term starters" on a tanking team, but not on a good team. The fans in Portland would burn down the building if that's all they got for Dame.
FWIW, if you pointed a gun to my head and made me place a bet for LeBron, I'd still say Lakers as well. Primarily because it checks the most "boxes." Between family, cap issues... LA can get close enough basketball-wise to where the advantages they have in the other areas may be too much to overcome. I just think the cart is a little out in front of the horse at the moment. And most in the media are happy with that, to be frank, because the Lakers being relevant is great for the league as a whole. I get it, because it is. That said, CP will be in LeBron's ear, Russ will be in PG's ear, and those are pretty convincing guys. Gonna be a fascinating 10 days or so. P.S. My guess is LeBron's family lives in LA no matter where he goes. But that's another reason why I think he'd like it to be LA, if all things are equal (or close to it).
This doesn’t look good for the chances of it being an opt-in and trade. Although CP3 chronicled his “free agency” in a similar fashion, so who knows. https://thespun.com/nba/this-is-reportedly-how-lebron-will-announce-his-free-agency-decision
Because Portland would have to take Luol Deng.. I don’t see how the Lakers can fit three stars under the cap? If they trade for Lillard they are officially out of the running for PG or Lebron unless those two take paycuts.
