GSW fans crap on KD and nauseum. If winning no problem, but any bumps in road and its KD's fault. Not just at home games, all over local media too. The golden boys are Curry, Klay and Kerr. Green is their underdog and heart of team. KD is strictly a gun for hire, no sincere love at all.
If Chris Paul doesn't go down they don't win the conference, fact. That series proved one thing, Chris Paul was the best player on the court.
We only have two data points on teams that KD has played for. Even with the ballhog that is Westbrook..they had great success..short of winning a championship. Obviously KD on a stacked GSW is his best case scenario. I think he can leave to any of the up and coming teams and put them over the edge.
This is exactly why joining an already great championship team was such a dumb move for Durant. I can't believe there are people saying that he is free to choose what's best for him. It's NOT best for him. If they lost, he would be accused of ruining the chemistry. If they won, people would say that they didn't really need him to win. He was viewed by Warriors fans as a mercenary. They will never love him like they do Curry, Klay, Draymond and Iggy. Non Warriors fans flat out hate him and disrespect him for choosing an easy path.
This was the worst thing for his legacy and when Curry wins the finals MVP and people start saying he was carried to a championship he's going to start realizing he not going to get the legacy points that he's always wanted. No one is going to consider him better than Lebron, Jordan, or even Kobe. Some will even have him behind Curry! He ruined his legacy for the moment and it's going to take him going off to the Knicks or something to rebuild it.
Thinking about it, he should have went to the Wizards. Hometown team but also having Wall and Beal AND playing in the East. He would have been able to go DIRECTLY at Lebron each and every year and had a pretty good supporting cast too.
He didn't want to go after LeBron head on. He has a beta mentality and actively avoided confrontation/competition. He wanted the easiest route to a title.
That's what we know now. But then, Durant was very open about wanting to be #1, wanting to be better than Lebron. I think he's still trying to do that. The competitor in him hears all the talk about Lebron being best in the world and he wants that. He wants to be in that top 5 all-time discussion like Lebron is. He thinks that just getting rings is all that matters but doesn't/didn't realize that people look at the context when they are discussing players all-time. Durant is very concerned with his legacy, people that say he doesn't care and just did this because he wants to have fun playing the game are joking themsevles and hasn't followed his career. He's now saying this... This is a man VERY concerned about what others think of him. He wants validation bad.
KD is a liar. At 1:30-1:40 he agrees with Lebron that they are the best two players in the game. **** outta here with that low self esteem bs, he just doesn't want to own up to the fact that his decision to join GS destroyed any semblance of excitement in the NBA. "Dur dur, we aren't a juggernaut team. I don't know why everyone thinks that. Anyways, gotta go hang out with my 3 teammates before we play in the All-Star game."
Speaking of Westbrook, funny how he and Durant are the direct opposites. Westbrook thinks himself the greatest hero of all time no matter what people say about him. Durant on the other hand keeps asking people if he is great.
I kind of feel sorry for Durant, he’s just extremely insecure If these quotes about needing validation from his peers and needing people to tell him how good he is came from Harden back when he was a 6th man and probably still unsure of how he stacked up to the great players in this league then I’d get it, but from KD who is universally recognized as the 2nd best player in the NBA? Wtf?
I'm working on it. I've sent a message to Jim Morrison's ghost, asking if he can help me out. Good vibes, bad vibes, strange vibes. Strange days!
