I blame the media. All you heard for damn near a week is how Goldenboy is being attacked. The refs had all that time to sit up in a hotel with nothing to do but watch Steven A Smith loud mouth ass.
This is true - but the officiating is compounded by this team being mentally weak. When it's clear things aren't going their way, they give up. What should have been a 15 point loss tonight ends up being 40. As much as I love Harden, he is one of the prime contributors to this. That critical Game 5 run against the Clippers in 2015 was with James on the bench.
We matched them pretty well in the first quarter until the calls started favoring the Warriors. It just snowballed from there.
People talk all this **** about WELL WE HAVE TO OVER COME THE REFS LIKE GREAT TEAMS Name a GREAT TEAM that overcame such blatant bullshit the reality is. . so called GREAT TEAMS benefit from shitty refs more than all other teams Rocket River
The rockets did not deserve to win tonight. It is as simple as that. Blame the refs if yall want but I think it was obvious for all to see that the rockets did not deserve victory with the way they played.
You can say bad call, but that’s a 50/50 call that could go either way since Tucker wasn’t clearly stationary. Draymond exploited the situation and got the call. Guess what — our stars also exploit gray areas to draw cheap fouls, habitually, and most NBA fans dislike our team because of it. So you’re not going to get any sympathy complaining about this.
The refs and the Rockets took turns sucking, RR. What an incredibly hard game to watch. Painful just doesn't do it justice. While the loss can't be placed on the shoulders of the refs, durvasa, since the entire team played like crap, the refs blew numerous calls, in my humble opinion.
That is exactly what you would expect from the internet though... The internet reflects popular opinion, which is what the refs are supporting. If anything, internet popularity should be a contrarian indicator.
Saying that tonight was due to a “historically bad red performance” which lead to us having a 41 point blowout, is laughably silly, but whatever. Sure.
It was especially atrocious given the call against Harden on Klay in Game 2 on the second bump. What Dray did was much worse. There was also a push off on Harden to the ground early in the game that wasn't called and resulted in a layup. The Luc dunk I think was a foul but I haven't warched a replay yet. Definitely doesn't account for the 41 pts or the lackluster performance by the team. But they were blatantly bad calls that I don't understand. I've never believed refs through games or intentionally effected them. But how can they just flat out miss so many calls that should have been obvious in real time? It's one thing when a ref doesn't have an angle and doesn't go for what could be a flop, but for multiple refs to have excelled views of these plays...its frustrating to understand.
The general consensus on socia media outside of clutchfans seems to be that the rockets got the better end of the whistle? Lmao ridiculous. Yeah we got our margin of error thinned because of officiating but either way its extremely lame to blame a 41 point loss where our team looked terrible on poor officiating.
In any game, there are dozens of calls or no calls that could have gone the other way. You are choosing to remember only the ones that didn’t go our way —because that’s what sports fans universally do. If you want to complain about the Warriors getting away with being too physical, then you should be asking what prevented the Rockets from matching that physicality on the other end. The faster, more energetic, more “forceful” team will always appear to be getting more of those calls.
There were definitely a few ridiculous calls and non-calls against the Rockets tonight. Specifically, there was a lot of off ball holding/bumping/grabbing by the Warriors that wasn't called and allowed them to get some easier shots in the first half. But on the list of things to worry about, the refs are pretty low.
Yep the Rockets gave in when things didn't go there way. Alot of the game was a series of self inflicting wounds. At the end of the day there is still game 4
