Was gonna include Watson in the possibly but probably not but no, I don't see it. 7 games, limited sample & a rookie. Whitney & Fuller, nope, don't see them either. This is basically WHYDFML (in the past year) and Whitney went down with an injury. Watt went from 3 in 2016 to 35 last year and may drop another 30 spots this year.
I think it’s either Watt or Watson. No way Mercilus makes it. He didn’t make it last year so there’s no reason he would make it this year. I think Clowney, Watson, Hopkins and Watt make it. Watson is so well-liked by so many NFL players that I would imagine he makes the list (since it’s voted on by players). Clowney and Hopkins are locks. Watt might not make it but his reputation alone might be enough to get him on the back end of the list.
Talk about filling air time. 1 hour shows to reveal 10 players across 2 months. Wow. I will not keep up with this but here's a start... *OT Joe Thomas would have been 55th but retired & retired players don't make the list 100. Ha Ha Clinton-Dix, S, Green Bay 99. Doug Baldwin, WR, Seattle 98. C.J. Mosley, LB, Baltimore 97. Carlos Hyde, RB, Cleveland 96. Malcolm Jenkins, S, Philadelphia 95. Lane Johnson, OT, Philadelphia 94. Kirk Cousins, QB, Minnesota 93. Mike Daniels, DT, Green Bay 92. Landon Collins, S, NY Giants 91. David Bakhtiari, OT, Green Bay 90. Jimmy Garoppolo, QB, San Francisco 89. Jimmy Graham, TE, Green Bay 88. Yannick Ngakoue, DE, Jacksonville 87. Andrew Whitworth, OT, LA Rams 86. Chris Harris Jr., CB, Denver 85. Bruce Irvin, LB, Oakland 84. J.J. Watt, DE, Houston 83. Linval Joseph, DT, Minnesota 82. Marshon Lattimore, CB, New Orleans 81. Michael Thomas, WR, New Orleans
One common misconception is that the list is ranking who had the best seasons in 2017. In actuality, the list is ranking who the players believe are the top 100 players as of right now. That explains why a player like Watt is still on the list despite not playing much at all over the past two seasons. No one could argue that he deserves to be on the list purely based off his 2017 performance, but he undoubtedly is still considered one of the top 100 players heading into the upcoming season.

I have doubts about that. JJ Watt hasn't done anything in years, and I think he's washed up. I'd be surprised if he makes it even half a season.
Garappolo made the list, and he only started 5 games, so I wouldnt be surprised if Deshaun Watson makes the list.
Speaking of.... Jimmy threw 7td’s and 5ints in 5 starts and is seemingly anointed the next big thing. Those are brian Hoyer numbers.
http://www.espn.com/blog/san-franci...mmy-garoppolo-made-49ers-better-at-everything I think it's the fact that Jimmy G (and the 49ers) went undefeated to end the season, and the sense of winning that he brought, rather than going purely off numbers. When's the last time Brian Hoyer did anything of value?
I've never heard DW called "Wats" before. At first I thought he was talking about JJ. Will be interesting to see if he makes the list since that would mean that the players (as a whole) rate him higher than Jimmy G.
