Dude doesn’t want to shoot. Why play him when he’s lost all confidence and will not pull the trigger? Sucks, because I still feel like he can add a much needed dimension to this team.
He's a victim of his own contract. He knows he one of the highest paid players and he puts himself under tremendous pressure to produce - which has ultimately been his undoing. He should renegotiate his contract for... idk, perhaps about 8 million, then he wouldnt have so much pressure and just relax and play.
What about that stupid slow motion pump fake 3-pointer, erratic drive to the hoop, and lose the ball on the way up play?
Bingo. We would have had PG last summer if Ryan wasn't such a scrub that no one wanted. Now imagine this team with PG playing alongside Harden and CP.
As much as Clutchfans hates him, its mainly for his contract and that has nothing to do with post season play. No idea why he's getting 4 minutes when the team had a 38 point lead. At least put him in to get some shots up and his confidence back. If we advance a Ryno playing at anywhere near the level he has been capable of this year would be great to have.
He is not on the court because of his play. His contract situation has ruined him for us as a player. He is ultra passive now and will not take a 3. He should only be out on the court launching like EGo from the other side. He should be like Green-light. If he is not out there shooting 3s his minutes should go to Green.
Ryan is a sad dude. Capela is so much younger than him, may have less playoff experience than him, yet he knows that he needs to turn up his play another notch in the playoffs. Ryan is trending the opposite way. Dude is timid as hell at the wrong time of the year. Afraid to throw your arms up for a shot, and throw your arms up to contest a shot or grab a board.... put on some Sure deodorant and man up.
He's not even making himself available for the spot up 3. He doesn't break away from the screen he sets fast enough to be open...... like he's purposely looking covered so he doesn't have to throw up a shot.
Ryan would be very important to Houston's success against the Warriors, but there's something going on what that man and it's mind-boggling. I don't know how he doesn't just dare to take a shot. His confidence is just so low and maybe he has tuned out like @Codman alluded to around the deadline. Losing his starting spot might have been the final blow.
In a shootout against the Warriors I think he will play Center in Stretches over Nene. The Jazz Centers are really strong and Long, Strong, Athletic. I think the coaches need to see improvement in his shooting since his ankle injury. His injury must be affecting his confidence in his shot, his hesitation to shoot really affects the spacing on the floor.
