Think about it my dude. Thon Maker is a 7 footer that can shoot. If he had James Harden and Chris Paul to pass him the rock, he would eat all day. Some people just don't understand basketball and you might be one of those people.
he can shoot? not really. his numbers say otherwise. i guess thats the ones who just tune in to watch a random playoff game for the first time draw their conclusions. before you accuse anyone of not understanding basketball, try making a better case for yourself first. stick to your day job plz
Maker of Thongs LOL Why bump this thread? _holic would trade Capela for Dwayne Deadman, Jeff WIthey, Jared Uthoff etc let alone Thong Maker
This thread makes me giggle like a 6th-grader. At this point, I seriously doubt you could find a single GM who would take Maker over Capela.
This wasn't just a terrible trade idea by holic in hindsight. He confirmed this season that he would still trade Capela for Maker. He also still thinks Nerlens Noel is the superior player. http://bbs.clutchfans.net/index.php...first-round-pick.255777/page-16#post-11457043
I would love Love to hear Morey give his opinion on some of these types of ideas. People all have opinions. I just want to hear Morey's opinions, on those opinions.
Maker is a different player from Capela even tho both are "7 footers". Maker is stiffer player and is not the aggressive natural roller that Clint is. Maker prefers the jump shot while Clint likes to dunk. Both are long and can rim protect but only Clint has the footwork and agility to excel defending all positions everywhere on the floor, especially far out on the perimeter. Clint is obviously the best fit for Rockets. Not interchangeable IMO.
I mean... I'd like to have both Capela and Maker. But no.... Capela has a PER of 29.4 for the series and is gobbling up 25% of total rebounds when he's on the floor. He fits like a glove with the overall Rocket's offensive and defensive strategy; he can switch onto the perimeter and recover while being an elite PNR finisher.
Jalen Rose said it best, you can tell a lot by a big men by the way he runs. Capela has great foot work (played a lot of soccer growing up) which enables him to just be so fluid through his coordination. Capela can gallop across the court quickly and he can also switch directions fluidly with body.
