I hope the Astros are proactive and don't have Giles *and* Sipp as mop up duty only relievers come playoff time.

I read somewhere that Tony Sipp is back up now and Hoyt back to the minors. Got to see Sipp a good bit when he first came up with the Indians nearly 10 years ago. More often than not, he was effective. If this is his last year in the pros, I'd like to see him end his career well and at least contribute something to getting the Astros back to the postseason.
I wish there was a way to package Giles and one of our blocked players, to get Iglesias from the Reds. He is wasting away in Cincy. Not gonna be many save opportunities in the next few years for him.
Giles is a good closer but on this team any player who is not elite in his role is going to look really bad, and Giles is not an elite closer. Use Fisher, Martes, and another decent prospect to get Kelvin Herrera or Raisel Iglesias and put this situation to bed.
Giles ERA was 108 tonight. Not 10.8. 108. He needs to be a mid-reliever or waived, traded, etc. I don't care. He is absolutely not a closer.
GIles needs to get rid of that stupid non intimidating squat before his pitches. He needs to pitch from a windup when noone is on base and change his stance
He's not trying to "intimidate" anyone, that's just his routine to get him set to pitch. I do totally agree that he should minimize that and work from the stretch.
Giles may well be one an all-star closer some day, it's not looking like it'll be here though. Personally think he needs a sports psychiatrist and a change up. Especially that change up.
