He was also the guy coming up with defensive stops and crucial rebounds. It goes both ways... I do agree that he needs to be an offensive threat out there
our 'Power Forward' position is hot garbage right about now EDIT: Tucker was +18 tonite??? Rocket River
PJ is balling out there guys. I know the stats don't show it, but If you have watched the last few weeks since he has been a starter, you have now witnessed the PJ Tucker experience. He has his nose in EVERYTHING on the defensive end, and he is now splashing corner threes at an elite clip. (.412 as a starter, .370 on the year) It's been a joy watching PJ, Trev and Luc, reminiscent of Hayes, Battier and Artest.
I was excited then, had some doubts since I didn't know who we got in him and it seemed like Prince Luc should've maybe gotten that money, but man has he shown his value in particular since becoming a starter! Amazing guy
Maybe I missed it, but I was never down on Tucker. I don’t remember his offense being so bad that it overshadowed his defense and toughness which he brings EVERY game.
I feel like PJ is getting better and better as the season has gone along. He knew his role from the beginning, but now he's perfected or something. Dude is exactly what we need at times.
He seems to have slimmed down too. I think we were victims of the old "Veteran Injury to get in shape during training camp".
PJ Tucker as a starter. 28 games played. (.412 from three on 4.3 attempts) Ryan Anderson as a starter. 48 games played. (.388 from three on 5.5 attempts) Ryan Anderson off the bench. 14 games played. (.444 from three on 4.5 attempts. Also, what Bull pointed out on twitter can't be understated. With PJ and Ariza, you have a left corner specialist and a right corner specialist, and they get down the floor and into their spots IN A HURRY, just like Clint runs to the rim. This leaves the entire top of the key and both wings for CP3 and JH13 to operate. It's so damn beautiful to watch.
Which is exactly why I thought it was tremendously overstated how much harden and Paul needed ryno out there standing way beyond the three point line. Ryno is in a good role off the bench. Too bad his salary doesn’t match his value because as is it’s a hindrance to getting better. He’ll need to be moved this summer unfortunately.
I love Tucker. As much as I love CP3 I think I love the Tucker and Prince signings more. It's like I believe McCann was the most important get in the offseason. Young (sorta), scrappy, and hungry and they're not throwing away their shot shot.
That was when the Rockets lost 7 of 9 stretch I believe and PJs poor shooting was a big apart of it. Be careful what you post or some dweeb will quote you 3 months down the line!
