Rockets guard Chris Paul played with soreness in his hamstring and labored after the game-clinching offensive rebound Tuesday in Portland, but said after the game he was fine and would not need to miss any time.

“I’m cool,” Paul said. “I’m good. I’m good. I be fine.”

Asked if he would miss any time, Paul said, “No, no, no, no. I’m fine.”

He had already given Rockets coach Mike D’Antoni the same report, verbally and non-verbally.

There is no reason for him to play vs Atlanta, Chicago, or Phoenix. If the Rockets beat the Pistons and Pelicans, rest him for the remainder of the homestand.

    Definitely need to sit him.

We have the #1 seed locked up essentially. I'd sit him for multiple games now and let him heal up. He was already looking slow before the hamstring injury and I have no doubt his knee was sore.

C'mon Chris. We know ur a warrior. But don't be stubborn & unnecessarily play thru injuries. We are going to be the #1 seed regardless. Just rest until the postseason

Sit him through the rest of the month (misses 5 games) and let Harden continue to stat-pad his MVP season. Then bring Chris Paul back on Easter (4/1) against the Spurs at the earliest. You could maybe let Harden rest for a couple of games too (maybe the back-to-back against the Lakers/Kings to end the season?).

CP3 please sit down and get some rest.. even if rockets don't get the 65 win season its ok we can live with 62-64 wins.. we can live with playing .500 ball the remainder of the season if it means resting you and Harden for half of the remaining games each.. We need you to save the remainder of this fire, passion and your bodies for the playoffs.. You will be playing 5 teams that are fighting for either playoff lives or home court situation in the first round, they are going to bring a physical brand to this game and go all out.. and your nature and intensity is such that you will match their play, giving you a higher exposure.. Please no risks the last ten games,, the injury bug is very real this year and has taken alot of players out, and almost got you last game, please take care of yourself... The rockets fan know this team in a 70 win type team.. we know it.. we don't need to get 66-68 wins and put an additional target on our selves, not to mention expend our selves right before playoff starts..

Paul is 32 and very injury prone. He's been snake bitten in the playoffs too. Please sit him a week. We don't need to take any chances. Hamstring injuries linger.

The Rockets will win 60+ games. That's a given. There's no reason to run CP3 into the ground though.

Chain him to his bed in bubble wrap. Put a gagball in his mouth too if he continues to say "I'm ok". F the regular season at this point. We have a chance at something special.

I agree with all of this
    HOWEVAH
I think that this is just JOY for Chris
This is the best basketball team and activity he has had in so long
HE does not want to seem to want to miss ANY of it

Sometimes Coaches have to save players from themselves

He don't need to play at all. Rest up.
